im on this shit again if anyone is interested

So I’m thinking about writing a Star Trek TNG fic about Human Augments: 

“It wasn’t so much that we treated lesser humans as slaves, or rather, that was never our intention. Around the same time that Human Augments became the norm, the world economy collapsed and we no longer had the ability to buy goods and supplies with money. It became more a system of trade, and when just a small percentage of the population was able to do more than the rest- stronger and smarter able to build, plant, create, better than the rest we ended up with more trade. Everything a Human Augment did, became something we could profit from. It got to a point that we had everything we would ever need in several lifetimes over by simply doing what we do best. And before long our abilities were traded for the only thing left that we did not already own, and that was other people. It wasn’t so much that Human Augments wanted slaves, or that we saw non augments as inferior beings, as it was that we didn’t want to…. Go unpaid for the work we had done.” Idk like it’s a start??? also really want Data and a human augment to be friends/totally confused by each other and have Gordi be totally pissed about it. I also don’t know that much about Augments cause I’m only like 3 seasons into tng and I’ve skipped so much around in Tos I don’t remember shit, so like, tell me if you have some info/insight?
