Anonymous asked:

Best Pali orgs to donate to at this time? Am thinking PCRF.

don't donate to orgs right now, donate to people. gazans need huge funds to evacuate to egypt, get treatment, buy food and other necessities. it is the most urgent and the best way your money can have the most impact.

@/folkoftheshelf on Twitter has made a thread of fundraising links for Gazans. I’ve transferred the links here, please boost them as the conflict is worsening:

breaking normal posting to say: merry christmas to those who celebrate. i make a point of keeping this blog fandom focused, but i am palestinian. from a place not far from bethlehem; where jesus was born and where this holiday began. but today, bethlehem is under military occupation. today, on christmas, bethlehem was bombed.

if you enjoy my jokes and posts, or if christmas means something special to you, i humbly ask you consider including bethlehem in your holiday giving. ANERA provides necessity like food and mattresses to palestinian refugees. PRCS provides critical medical care. CFG is a gaza-based grassroot collective which gives necessities to the community. thank you.

getting incredibly tired of westerners responding to firsthand accounts shared by palestinians in gaza with the reflexive demand to see a "source"

because by source, they always mean a western news report

never mind, of course, that international journalists are banned from entering gaza; the word of the western journalist, writing in passive voice about a genocide 6000 miles away, is still deemed more 'reliable' than the firsthand accounts shared by the victims living through that same genocide

a palestinian shares a video of an IOF solider brutalizing civilians in gaza? not good enough; they still need a ''source.'' the video in question was posted by a palestinian journalist? okay cool, but does someone have a more reliable source? can we get a word in from the esteemed fact-checkers over at the new york crimes, or the iraq-has-wmds-post? we just don't want to spread misinformation...

however, gaza needs donations for medical, financial, and food aid. below I've linked some trusted organisations:

ways to support:

i’ve seen people linking donation links to minnesota freedom fund, but they already have plenty of money from last summer and i would instead redirect money to the links above and other bipoc individuals/orgs. black visions/reclaim the block are also not currently asking for donations.

for those in the twin cities metro area:

candlelight vigil at 7pm 6pm today (april 12th)  (moved to accommodate those who do not wish to stay past curfew)

if you’re coming from out of town: please be mindful of the community and spaces you’re entering and protect those who are more vulnerable. stay out of private yards and be aware that many young children live in these residential areas.

things to keep in mind:

I’ll keep editing this post with more resources so please check back for the most up to date info; these are all from trustworthy sources to the best of my knowledge.

Another black man was murdered by the police.

Rayshard Brooks was shot by Atlanta police last night (06/12/2020) during a traffic stop. The 27-year-old was transported to the hospital where he would die.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, this will be the 48th case of police shooting in 2020 that they are being told to investigate.

as of tonight ( june 13, 10:11 pm ) Atlanta protestors are reporting that police are becoming more violent and detaining people. Please donate to the Atlanta Solidarity Fund to support them in their fight for justice for Rayshard.
