It’s St George’s Day. I’ve always been team dragon.
First possible illustration for my “perfect day” project. Still time to tell me about your ideal day if you’d like to! Message on here, or on https://ask.fm/justoneperfectday :)
“The sun is shining, I’m with the people I love, out in nature. Then I’m happy.”
Another rough version of a “perfect day” mentioned in my last post. Skeletons to reduce everyone down to anonymity and equality. We all have dreams of perfect days.
“Going to watch a comedy show with the person I like. During the interval, we're mock arguing over random things. Suddenly I blurt out 'I love you' and am shocked the words have finally left my mouth. I bury my head into my hands and apologise. But they say 'I love you too' back to me just as the second half begins. They put their arm around me for the whole duration of the second half, as I nestle my head against their chest.”
I’d still love to receive more descriptions of what your perfect day may entail. Either a message here, or over at ask.fm
OK. So. I've had a bit of an idea. I love to hear what people are passionate about and what makes them happy. What I'd love is to know what your perfect day would entail. Big, small, from a brew that's just right to the perfect wedding day, just anything! So what would be super is if you could send me a message, either one here or the ask.me I’ve set up to compile them. You can be anonymous if you’d like. I’ll probably be leaving names off anyway, but I may do a thank you page listing names, depending on how this all turns out! I'm hoping I'll be able to take a bundle of passions and ideas and form them into some form of zine! I can't promise that anything'll come of this, but I really like the idea!
Happy Valentine’s to you beautiful people. However today hits you, you’re excellent. You are. I promise. Look at you go. This shark adores you. x
(Yea, this shark was featured in my most recent repeat pattern, it was always supposed to have that heart, but it didn’t fit the pattern so well.)
It’s been too long since I posted a repeat pattern (or just posted in general). So here’s sharks. Bloody love a shark.
A scribbly Manga Studio doodle from yesterday of Rey.
Aaaand I just got “The Art of Star Wars The Force Awakens” concept artwork book and oh my worddddd. I love it. I love Rey. I love that I’ve been transported back into the excitement of the Star Wars galaxy.
I’m going to put it out there that I intend to be more creative and post more in 2016. Watch me crash and burn.
As part of my role as the artist in residence at college, I’m asked to prepare materials and examples for lessons. I’ve always shyed away from clay since my “pinch pot” attempts 8 years ago. I was asked to make some small clay tiles. I hated them, so I made this little fox head instead. NICE WORK ME.
Three recent card designs.
The first one was just an idea that hit me on my walk home from work, the zebra finch was for my brother and the firework cat was for a colleague who has supported me for the past 8 years (she used to be my tutor at sixth form) or so and i feel privileged that i now get to call her a friend.
A little doodle in my sketchbook that I liked enough to colour.
Cat dance party woo!
Shark and Valais Blacknose.
I haven’t updated this in too long, so I may do a bunch of posts shortly...
The Draw Inn sketches, Telfords Warehouse Chester, October 2015
One punk rock fox, a doodle for thingsbydan that got out of hand.
Grungey vulpines, ah yes please.
I don’t know I feel about this now I’ve drawn it. Ren and Gadget have a short political discussion and if you can read this, you have more eligibility than a pair of fictional beasties.
It might be stupid and people may have their opinions on the upcoming UK general election but if you’re a UK resident and you’re eligible to vote then god damn, make a point by going to a polling station rather than causing your ‘revolution’ by staying away.
i know they’re all probably a bit terrible, but some are definitely slightly less terrible, and if you don’t vote, supporters of the most terrible may not stay away, so do the thing, please.
HERE’S a really good guide to the manifestos from the main parties from the BBC.
HERE’s where you register to vote. It’ll take about 5 minutes apparently (I’m already registered) and needs to be done by the 20th April. 15 days from when this post has been made.
also whaaat i drew a comic. it’s been too long. ok bye.
Last week was kinda crazy busy. I technically had four different jobs in 7 days. But somehow, I managed to find three hours to create the above picture for one of the teachers who was leaving college. Well, I sketched the pose out during one job, but then Thursday evening was spent in Manga Studio.
She seemed quite pleased with the result, despite having a strong dislike for manga. But that was basically the entire joke.
Started my day with a watercolour warm up, then did a bit more painting, then whilst waiting for paintings to dry, I vectored the little fox up. I think I’m a bit bored of the north west’s continuous drizzle.
