Do you have any advice on how to draw a head from a 3/4 view? Those trip me up pretty often when I'm drawing ;-;

Hey! Sorry it took so long for me to respond, finals week has been crazy~ But I put together a little something that I hope will help! Just some basic tips that I keep in mind when I’m drawing. I hope this isn’t too convoluted, I’m still a novice at putting together good tutorials~

EDIT: Tumblr is being super weird and keeps blurring out the quality of the jpg file but I fixed it! It’s still a little blurry but it’s much better than before. I’ll probably still post it separately, too :) Thanks for your patience!

And that’s about it! Hope this was helpful :)

New Week, New Videos!

I thought it’d be wise to step away from the human body for a bit so we don’t get bored, and considering I neglected the head while I focused on the body, this week we are going to see the human head!

Second art tutorial that I did! Are you guys liking these? Follow me on instagram to vote the next art tutorial: https://www.instagram.com/taylaedraws/ Same as the hand tutorial that I did, This is a basic and simple way I do heads but I do suggest you to study anatomy and skull, also make different shapes!  I hope you can understand this tutorial, but always seek for other tutorials and live references.  As for the tips: 1-  I always study and understand the shapes with lines, it really helps me to know where all stuff go.

2 - Always flip the canvas while you drawing (ctrl + T flip horizontal) this will help you to make a more proportional face and correct stuff

You can always ask me stuff too or send a pv message for more ^^ Follow my twitter: https://twitter.com/taylaedraws

Anonymous asked:

Usually, how do you construct a face from different angles? Like 3/4, profile and front on?

Basically, I just set the position of eyes&middle of the face and then just draw the rest accordingly. Yeah… I suck at explaining so I made a gif with my usual process so you can see:

it kind of became a love triangle at the end lmao

The hairline-eyebrows, eyebrows-nose, nose-chindistances should be about equal. Ears are between eyes and nose. The rest of the head you can just draw however you want as long as it’s not too big i guess( you can check if it looks off by horizontally flipping the layer, and if it does then just transform it until it looks good from both sides lol). Personally, I like to make the edges of the head a bit more angular because I’m really bad at drawing circles haha.

More angles:

If you can’t figure out how to draw a certain angle I recommend posemaniacs or just look in the mirror (I have a mirror on my desk just for that purpose haha). The more you draw the better you’ll get so yeah go and draw your otp kissing from every single angle you can think of ‘cause that’s always fun. ヽ( ・∀・)ノ

I hope you don’t mind if I answer the ask about hair sometimes next week, cause I get the feeling it’s gonna get long

For anyone who cares: I don’t use tumblr very often anymore. I apologize to anyone whose sent me messages and how sketchy I’ve been with responding these last few months. Things just haven’t been all that lately and yeah. For anyone who cares I plan on deleting this account in the coming while and making a new one to start fresh. I’m too lazy to edit this one ie; unfollow inactive accounts, remove all these bot porn blogs that are following me for some reason, so that’s really it. I know I haven’t been much more than a reblog account for stuff I like but, thank you all for following and checking in. I’d like my new blog to actually have some of my own substance in it, like my own work and what not. But yeah, so thank you for reading if you did. I won’t be deleting this account right off the bat though, just a last heads up.
