The Major Asteroids

Chiron

Chiron is considered a “centaur” asteroid. It was named for the centaur in Greek Mythology, Chiron, who was known to be a great healer. Chiron is the Planet of Healing and symbolizes all aspects of healing and medicine. Chiron is considered a “mediator” between Uranus and Saturn.

Ceres

Ceres is actually labelled a dwarf planet, and was named after the sister of Jupiter. She rules over food, cooking, and nutrition, and influences mothering, parenting, fertility, and gardening. Her appearance in one’s chart shows how one is best comforted, and also how one shows love and comfort to others. Her negative aspects include grief, work problems, eating disorders, custody issues and kidnapping. She covers feelings of abandonment and parent-child complexes.

Pallas

This asteroid was named after Jupiter’s daughter, Pallas. She carries influence over many things, such as the immune system, the arts, the father/daughter relationship, intuition, justice, wisdom, defense, horses and the kidneys. Her placement will reveal one’s relationship with the father and also how they treat males in general. Her negative side deals with conflict, legal battles, injustice and illnesses related to a weakened immune system.

Juno

The asteroid Juno was named for the wife of Jupiter. She is similar to Venus, but Venus is the attraction, while Juno is the commitment. Juno rules marriage, fashion, and beauty, as well as diplomacy. She has influence with the weather, flowers, fairness and female genitalia. Her placement reveals what one’s ideal partner would be, and what would satisfy them within a marriage. Her negative aspects include the negative side of marriage, and relationship problems, such as infidelity, abuse, women’s rights, rage, betrayal, and bitterness.

Vesta

Vesta is the second largest asteroid in our solar system. She is a sister of Jupiter and is called the virgin goddess. She represents focus dedication, mental clarity and self-respect. She rules the metabolism and the upper intestine and carries influence over locks and keys, sisters, security, investments, insurance, and inheritance as well as chastity, sexuality, and devotion. Her negative side includes denial, insecurity, lack of focus, promiscuity, segregation, secret societies and family troubles, as well as fear of sex and/or intimacy.

North Node in the 1st House / South Node in the 7th House - the new direction of life is expanding what it means ultimately to be your own person. In the past life you focused heavily on connecting with other people and making sure those connection lasts the longest they can. You were balancing between the self and others ultimately forgetting “yourself” and sacrificing your own independence, freedom of being the self and intensity to maintain balance and peace in the relationship in general. You became the diplomat, the judge and the peacemaker using subtle manipulation to get things you wanted. You were taught those are the ways that gets you far in life. Since the 9th house represents languages you may go out of your way this year to learn a new language, or try and perfect it. If you travel this year and meet some people and your SR Mars is afflicted you could run into some confrontation with them. You may also spend your energies this year looking into other types of religion and other ways of thinking (philosophy). You may also love debating this year, and may want to travel more.

SR Mars in the 10th house:

This year you may be rather composed with your anger, or could have spouts of anger. You could feel more sexual this year, but also have more restraint than others since the 10th house is ruled by Saturn. If you’ve had trouble in the past making more time for your friends this placement would help you to go more out of your way or to be more energy into making plans with them. This year you may plan for your future hopes and dreams and maybe even make them a reality depending on the aspecting planets (aspects to jupiter). You may be really great at making new friends this year, and you may react to situations in an unconventional way than others would. If your mars is afflicted you could have more arguements with friends this year but arguements aren’t always bad as long as you try and work through them.
