The Case of Hana and Alice

花とアリス 殺人事件 

I immensely love this movie. 

Honestly, words cannot properly describe how much I love this movie.

The Case of Hana and Alice, or Hana to Alice: Satsujin Jiken is a movie adaptation of the original manga by DOUMAN SEIMAN. Arisugawa Tetsuko moves to a new town where she is quickly caught up in a strange rumor and is promptly ostracized by her classmates. She begins to uncover more about the truth behind the rumor; about her shut-in neighbor, the mysterious disappearance of the previous seat owner, and the speculation of the possible murder. 

Even if you don’t watch it, please click the video attached. It’s the ending song, and it sounds lovely. 

I am not the best at creating synopsis’, but if you have the time, please, please, please do check this one out. The growth between the relationship of the two main characters, their own character development as more is revealed of them; I love it. I love this whole film so much, I think the animation captures the raw adolescence and pain and overflow of emotions quite well.

The animation art style is a lot different from what I commonly see, but I really love it. 

 I am not one to cry for movies and books and music, but this one touched me dearly. The first time I watched it, I actually cried a bit at a certain part. And when I say first time, it’s because I rewatched it like seven times, and I will continue to revisit this masterpiece in the future.
