i fell in love with you slowly. it wasn’t love at first sight,  or even lust.  it was a gradual process of awkward greetings and embarrassed blushing of shuffling feet and prolonged touches.  it was meeting for ice cream and milkshakes on the beach conversations that stretched over days and long nights spend wondering whether you felt the same.    it was slow.  but it was sure and looking back now, i wouldn’t have it any other way

Turned to Stone

I was guiltless during the drop when the moon lost its mask where I dug my feet into sand throwing rocks praying to the sky as the stars faded one by one guiltless as the pages of my mouth climbed the seconds of the clock guiltless as the dreams left with secrets buried under my heart of stone guiltless for never loving you the way the sky loves the moon guiltless because I paid my dues…

and yes, there were novels of our mistakes and yes, there was locks of our hair in the river and yes, there were decades of mountains and sores of light and yes, there were burnt fingers and motel carpets and yes, i put ground glass into the sugar jar and yes, you took off your shirt and yes, you   will never forget the horse and the water and the way it just kept walking. yes, you will never forget the sound of your brother’s voice. yes, we burned the car. yes, the leather seats gutted. yes, we translated all of the moons. you shimmered and i watched. you bled and i bled and the light devours us each time.

He used to hug me in these painful, tight hugs that I felt in my bones and seemed to fill me with warmth and life. It felt like he was putting my pieces together, holding me together because I couldn’t do it myself. Until he left and I had to learn to pick myself up again and fill the holes he dug. When I see him years later, he’s faking a smile and avoiding my eyes while I’m desperately searching his face for any indication that he missed me, that my absence hurt him in some minuscule way. He’s looking everywhere but at me, and he leans in for a friendly hug. It’s a pathetic one, it barely binds me to him. The difference is painful and the boy who used to make me feel complete is nothing but a distant stranger. I longed for just one more crushing hug, longed for the feeling of being whole again. Instead all I’m left with are awkward smiles, forced politeness and a realization that I meant nothing.

GOD'S MEDICINE - 'GOS'-PILLS

PROVERBS 4:20-22 – My son, give attention to My words; incline your ear to My sayings.  Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health (healing and medicine) to all their flesh.

Below I am listing some “gos-pills” – take them regularly and walk in the divine health and well being that your heavenly Father longs for you to walk in.

EXODUS 15:26 – “… For I am the LORD who heals you”

PSALM 103:1-5 – Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!  Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

PSALM 107:21&20 – Oh that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!  He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

PSALM 118:17 – I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

JEREMIAH 30:17 – “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,” says the LORD.”

JOEL 3:10 – Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, “I am strong.”

MALACHI 3:2 – But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.

MATTHEW 8:2-3 – And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”  Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.”  Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

MATTHEW 8:17 – …that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”

MARK 11:23&24 – “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain (sickness, disease), ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.  Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

MARK 16:17-18 – “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

JOHN 10:10 – “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

ROMANS 8:11 – But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

2 CORINTHIANS 10:4-5 – For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds (wrong thinking) casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

GALATIANS 3:13&14 – Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’) that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

1 PETER 2:24 – Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness – by whose stripes we were healed.

3 JOHN 2 – Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

PSALM 91:14-16 – “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.  He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him.  With long life will I satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”

BE BLESSED AND HIGHLY POSPEROUS
