Holy TARDIS of Gallifrey

@holy-tardisofgallifrey / holy-tardisofgallifrey.tumblr.com

You can call me Hailey (some call me H), and this is my personal blog. Expect to see trash and a few fandoms. Right now I'm reentering DW/David Tennant hell, so expect a lot of that.

Why do I keep getting vegan blogs recommended to me?

Wtf I didn’t even tag this. Have vegans been lurking in the shadows waiting for this exact moment to strike? I’m coating my house in beef.

I honestly never thought anyone could outdo Anakin-’you-underestimate-my-powers’-does-a-triple-backflip-and-gets-all-his-limbs-cut-off-Skywalker in being Extra™ but creating a bucket of your enemies ashes to angrily slam your completely unnecessary helmet into in front of prisoner company just for the villain aesthetic comes pretty damn close

I’m sorry but nothing will compare to Darth-i-have-to-make-the-most-extra-supervillain-entrance-standing-on-a-tie-fighter-with-a-cool-cape-aesthetic-while-flying-the-damn-tie-fighter-with-the-force-because-i’m-cool-Vader

Yeah, you’re right. The only person who can out Extra™ Anakin is Anakin

bisexuality is a lot like spock. he’s both human and vulcan. however, humans view him as being strictly vulcan and vulcans view him as a human blight.

i feel like a weird phase that isn’t talked about much is being half closeted and half out like??? idk it’s such a weird dynamic i can’t describe it

it’s just like a lot of not knowing who knows and who doesn’t know, not knowing how to act around certain people, not knowing when you can be yourself or when you have to hide, not knowing if it will bring up a whole big conversation if you make a gay joke or say something in reference to being gay….idk it’s just so much uncertainty and awkwardness in my experience and not a fun place to be

ANYWAYS if you’re in this phase like i am i love you and im proud of you for how far you’ve come and i believe in you. you’re valid and strong and things will work themselves out for us eventually!!!

Okay but what are the exact limitations of Gallifreyan regeneration? They're humanoid in appearance, and it's said that they came before humans, but what about age when it comes to regeneration? Why has the Doctor never regenerated into a child? A woman? I get that it's for the formula of the show, but I just really want something new to happen to him. Gah.

Sometimes, the Doctor's personality change after a regeneration takes some getting used to. 12 is more like the classic Who Doctors. Peter does a great job in mixing a bit of all of them all while making his Doctor unique. I remember that I initially disliked the 10th Doctor after 9 and it took me a while but I liked him a lot eventually. I had no problem adjusting to 12 because I am used to the Classic Who Doctors. And I really like 12's and Clara's relationship in series 9.

I will freely admit that I've never watched Classic Who (I tried once, but not very hard) and I kind of get the sense that Peter Capaldi draws a lot more of his Doctor's personality and attitude from Classic Who than Chris, David, and Matt did, and even though I never watched Classic Who, I think that's pretty cool of him to do, I respect that.

And yes, his personality does tend to change from regeneration to regeneration, and I also don't mind that about him, because every Doctor shouldn't be written the same way, and he can't be, because not every actor can be exactly the same as the one before him, nor should they be.

There is a certain adjustment period to a new Doctor though, and maybe that's where I am right now. Because I initially disliked 11 when he came on, and watching his episodes felt like pulling teeth, despite how actually really really good series 5 is(imo). Now, of course, I love Matt as the doctor, even if I felt like he was a bit too quirky sometimes.

Like I said before, when Peter was cast, I was kind of expecting, and almost hoping that he would be a bit more... Grumpy, I guess. But after watching Matt's regeneration episode, I just kind of never tuned back in for series 8.

A lot of people have said to me that I just need to get to series 9, and he's much better, which relieves me. Maybe I just need more time with him, since I am used to the young, dashing, tortured, and at times anti-hero type of Doctor, whereas those who watched Classic Who must feel more at home with this kind of abrasive, grumpy, self-important Time Lord. And that isn't bad... It's just going to take some getting used to.

I really appreciate others opinions on this subject, and also the gentle push to just keep watching, lol. Promise I will.

“Why don’t millennials–?”

MONEY.

We have none. No money. Nobody wants to give us any.

Whatever the rest of your question is, the answer is almost definitely “money”.

“Why don’t millennials buy diamonds?” “Why don’t millennials have houses?” “Why don’t millennials travel?” “Why don’t…”

It’s money.

Mystery(s) solved. You’re welcome.

okay when I direct hamlet I know exactly what I want in the opening scenes

the audience will be in traverse. when they come in hamlet will be sitting in his designated seat, on his phone. audience comes in, house lights down, stage lights up, hamlet is still on his phone. audience to either side confused, maybe annoyed like ‘who does this guy think he is smh smh’. opening battlements scene happens, hamlet pays no attention, doesn’t draw attention to himself, just sits in the audience, probably reading cracked.

end of scene one, start of scene two. claudius gertrude et al enter, take their place up on the raised stage at one end of the traverse. hamlet looks up, takes note, puts away phone. claudius starts his big long speech. hamlet pulls out bag of doritos and very loudly opens them. claudius pretends not to notice as hamlet loudly eats doritos while he tries to do his big diplomatic speech. gertrude is very embarrassed. hamlet is being a little shit. probably annoys audience to either side - offers them a chip, nudges them so he can roll his eyes at something claudius says to them, etc. claudius finishes with laertes, turns to address hamlet. ‘and now our cousin hamlet, and our son (and lil shit I s2g if I didn’t love your mother)’. hamlet addresses his first line (‘a little more than kin and less than kind’) to his neighbour in the audience. not until gertrude suggests that it only ‘seems’ with him does he drop his doritos, stand up, and address his mother. once he’s done with his ‘I know not seems’ speech, he’s embarrassed and angry at having shown such emotion, and sits angrily back down in the audience. he doesn’t get up until partway through ‘too too solid flesh’, which he starts off addressing to his neighbours

Shakespeare is best when done off-kilter, pop-culture and just plain in your face.  I would watch the hell out of this, and try to get the seat next to Hamlet for the next performance.
