This is written with the permission of Barbara Troen, Megan’s mother. I used to be very close to Megan and although I wish to remain anonymous, I can say that I miss her a lot and that both Barbara and I are having a hard time coping with her loss.
That being said, we also know that many of you still wonder what happened to her and if the murderer, Kaleo Schreiner, will be punished for his crime.
So...
Megan was shot in the head. She died instantly, without feeling any pain or any fear. There was no rape, no use of drugs, no torture. As many of you probably already know, she died very shortly after having been taken. We just want you to rest assured that her death was painless. Megan wasn’t scared. She didn’t feel like her life was in danger.
Megan had lots of issues in her life, she went through a lot and suffered more than many of us. She is now at peace, resting in the arms of the Lord, far from this corrupted, cruel society we live in.
Barbara is depressed. She feels like an entire part of her heart and soul is missing, she feels like her whole life has been taken away from her. To say she is devastated would be an understatement but at least, the fact that Kaleo is in jail awaiting his trial and knowing that the sentence he will face will be rather heavy is sort of a relief for us all.
Barbara appreciates all the prayers and supports people gave her but she still needs time to heal. She is a good, caring woman, just like Megan.
I miss Megan. So does her family. Especially her mom and her best friend, Kourtnee.
Barbara and I agreed to delete the blogs that didn’t really matter much in Megan’s eyes, the ones she would have deleted anyway but we’re keeping the ones that she would NEVER had deleted.
I hope you’re all doing well. Megan loved you all and woke up every morning wondering who she could help and how. It was her goal in life, to be your guardian angel.
Her drawings will not be forgotten: an association will use them for their clothing shop and other items. The benefits will help disabled children to get a better lifestyle.
I love you Megan. I miss you.
