The thing about immigration “control” is that it’s exactly like prohibition - it doesn’t work. “Criminals” will still enter the country whether you make it illegal to do so or not. So really, the only people being hurt and deterred by insanely strict immigration policies are those with good intentions who are simply seeking a better life in the US. So then you can make the argument, “well then we need stricter border security, bigger walls, blah blah blah so NO ONE can get in. Well, aside from the blatant inhumanity of denying families freedom of movement and refuge from political or drug violence that that entails, do you even have any grasp of how expensive that would be or the loss of civil liberties that would accompany reforms like that? Do you want even more of your money stolen from you by the government to build something like that? Do you really want to give the state that much control of both the entrance AND exits of this country? That’s a pretty dangerous thought, I think.

I’ll keep digging Till I feel something.
