Fiona HCs and Some AUs

The lovely @library-of-peculiars was asking about them so here’s a post!

General Headcanons:

- fiona is physically 17

-she was born on sept 18,1832 (i saw her birthday was on sept 18 somewhere so i rolled with it) and that makes her a virgo

-she left Ireland at 16 (in 1848)

- she was from a small village in County Cork Ireland

-her family was catholic which already had them in a bad position (the english weren’t that great to the irish and irish catholics especially)  and when the famine hit it got really bad

- she is either african irish or kinda looks like merida

- she is like 5′7″ (170.18 cm)

-she has large shoulders and long legs

-ok this is weird but I hc her as really flat chested

-she has a dimpled chin, and has a dimple on her left cheek

-she is cover in freckles and beauty marks

-she has huge, kinda wild eyebrows

-she discovered her peculiarity at 13

- she had a younger sister who was around six years younger than her but who died before she discovered her peculiarity. her name was grace

-she has a Temper

-she doesn’t speak unless she is REALLY emotional. or drunk.

-she’ll only speak to people she is completely comfortable with

- she rarely speaks. like it’s rare, but she communicates through gestures and writing

- her voice is a natural mezzo-soprano

-she doesn’t like to speak because 1. the trauma she went through 2. she has an EXTREMLEY thick accent. it generally makes her self conscious because sometimes it can be hard to understand her english 3. she generally prefers speaking gaelic but hugh is the only other person who speaks it

-she’s fluent in english, but, like I said, prefers gaelic

-her favorite flowers are: alstroemeria (devotion), aster (patience), alyssum (worth beyond beauty), bells of ireland (good luck), chamomile (energy in adversity), coriander (hidden worth), daffodil (new beginnings), etc…

-she chooses her favorite flowers based on meaning, but likes roses because she finds them pretty

-she believes in banshees 500% like do not joke about them around her

-she builds up emotional walls really quickly and easily

-she has bad anxiety and (most likely, but it hasn’t been diagnosed) PTSD

-she was a pretty happy kid until the whole accusing her of being a witch, which caused her to become ‘cold’, and build emotional walls

- it takes a long time for her to become comfortable with someone/ consider them her friends

-she’s a fast runner

-she want to be a florist, and has most flower meanings (victorian flower language) memorized

-she is neutral on the cats v dogs debate

-she hates cheese with a passion. the first time she ate it she spit it across the room

-she believes ends justify the means unless the means are too extreme (like injuring/killing innocent people)

Super Cool Fiona And Claire Take A Road Trip Were Everything Goes Wrong AU:

-ok so fiona and claire escape Miss Wren’s loop and are like let’s get ourselves to London. But they don’t have any money.

- so they decide to go on a cross country trek (more like fiona is like we’re walking to London suck ur sick ass up Claire)

- they have run ins with wights and claire learns that fiona is willing to go to great lengths to protect herself and claire

-she kills a wight with a spoon at one point (idk how but It Will Happen)

- so fiona ends up falling down a rocky hill and gets this big ass scar on her forehead

-and she gets a ton of other scars from fighting with wights

-so it finally gets to the point where Fiona gets stabbed in the stomach and nearly dies

-claire is like, “i can help!” but fiona is like, “ur six. wtf could u do. ur abt as useful as me”

-literally the first thing claire ever hears fiona say is that she’s a useless six year old

-but they find this couple who are able to help Fiona and she ends up ok

-and fiona apologizes for being shitty to claire bc getting stabbed can really but someone in a bad mood

- they spend a few weeks there (sidenote: this au is in the 1940s bc that’s kinda were they were?? yanno like when they left carinholm [is that how you spell it]) bc you need to recover after a stabbing and claire can’t exactly go into the world alone

- so the couple is kinda religious and they say grace before eating and one day fiona like breaks?? just starts crying, and then gets up and flat out faints (i need drama all the time im sorry)

- so later that night (about midnight or one) and fiona has woken up from her fainting episode and is a-okay (just minor bruises and shit) claire hears her trying to leave and the couple is like no you need to stay bc she’s not fully recovered

-and it escalates into a screaming match and fiona ends up breaking a vase full of flowers she picked and slamming the door. and just. leaving. this is the last claire sees of fiona

-claire hears she helped round up wights after the whole Caul fiasco

-the other kids from the loop find her and she goes with them

-ok in this au the internal clock reset didn’t happen bc that is some of the cheapest shit ive ever seen written

-and they go to some random loops stuck around 1940-something

-so claire and hugh go exploring around the village near the loop and they end up talking in a field about fiona

- and claire is like “was she ever nice?”

- and hugh is like she was nicer when they first met but already had defenses up and it took years for them to even become friends

-they see a girl picking flowers and they’re like “fiona?!?!👀” and maybe it is but idk this is where the au ends as of rn

im sorry about this it’s like midnight and the au sounded better in my head

Hugh and Fiona for the relationship thing if you're still doing them 😊

YES MERCI CHÉRIE

  • It took them a while to fall in love; Hugh maybe has had a crush on someone before but Fiona has never experienced anything like it
  • In her ±18 years of life, she’s never loved someone romantically before and it’s a bit scary
  • But Hugh is just all gentle smiles and quiet chuckles and when he impulsively grabs her hand she doesn’t pull it back, much to everyone’s surprise since she doesn’t like being touched that much
  • She doesn’t need to speak when she’s with Hugh, and that’s so important to her - he doesn’t need her to talk
  • Respectively, both of them are the best thing that ever happened to the other
  • It’s just a fact this is not even a headcanon
  • Hugh is also the only one who can calm her down. People don’t expect it since she’s practically mute but she can get pretty angry and probably also has anxiety attacks
  • They’re just soulmates what is there to say
  • Fiona can run faster than Hugh
  • Her actual laugh is amazing. The first time she laughs out loud Hugh gets teary eyed because she’s just so magical
  • She also makes flowercrowns made of yellow tulips (which symbolise, I think, simple, happy love) for him and he’s so proud of it and wears it like a crown
  • They don’t really kiss a lot
  • She doesn’t speak but she does sing to her flowers - at first when she thinks nobody is around, and eventually when Hugh is with her too

Ok get ready for this AU where Fiona lives (me @ me: what do you mean AU this is canon) and they start up a new life in the modern world (under the cut!)

peculiar aesthetics (4/?) - Fiona Frauenfeld

Fiona was a refugee from Ireland, he said, where she’d been growing food for the people in her village during the famine of the 1840s - until she was accused of being a witch and chased out. This is something Hugh had gleaned only after years of subtle, nonverbal communication with Fiona, who didn’t speak not because she couldn’t, Hugh said, but “because the things she’d witnessed in the famine were so horrific they stole her voice away.”

Hugh and Fiona like to take naps together in the grass after they tend to the garden and put flowers in eachother’s hair.

The best thing about Finding Dory was that almost every character, outside of Dory’s parents, has a disability. Dory has short-term memory loss. Nemo has his famous small fin. Destiny is extremely near sighted, nearly blind,. Bailey’s sonar doesn’t work all of the time. Hank lost an arm. You could even say that Marlin suffers from PTSD and anxiety. And none of these things stops or halts the character at all. And I think that is fucking fantastic.
