This had turned out a complete failure. Why did he think this was a good idea again? Ofย courseย Phoenix wouldnโ€™t blurt it out right there. He needed another way to approach the subjectโ€ฆ or not approach the subject at all. Miles wasnโ€™t too good with charm speaking or mind reading (except when it came to torturing using the โ€˜souls of the innocentโ€™), so there wasnโ€™t really any hope for him toย forceย the man to understand.ย
This had nothing to do with the case, nothing to do with court, nothing to do with the law; this matter wasย greaterย than any of that. God, sometimes Miles wanted to whip some sense into the lawyer, but he wasnโ€™t thatโ€ฆ demanding. Although, law could play into this situation, it didnโ€™t concern him at all. All he wanted was for Phoenix to at least beย awareย of the choices he was making. If notโ€ฆ doomsday.

"If I am not with you, I cannot patrol your actions. You could make a fatal mistake, and I would not be there to help you and get you out of the consequences. This is a matter of life or death. If I cannot get you to thinkย clearlyย of what is to happen if you are not careful, there is no telling the damageโ€ฆโ€
Miles grew quiet. He was sick of having to simplify his words for the man to understand.
"I will end there. There is no point of continuing if you do not understand."
Instead of leaving, he seemed to have made himself comfortable on a nearby sofa, folding one knee over the other and whipping out a large portfolio from his jacket.

He had always been the clear-cut type of person to catch hidden meanings, curious statements, or questionable words... obviously, a needed trait in order to make due and scrape by as an attorney. He could catch that there was a drift in Prosecutor Edgeworth's words, but nothing more ... just what could he be implying?

Despite his inquisitive nature, he decided it to be best for him to lay the conversation to rest. ย Miles was ,as usual, perfectly accurate in his assumption ; Phoenix had been lacking comprehension of their conversation ever since the first few words had been exchanged. He supposed it to be for the best their words died on their lips.

Since Miles had determined to unwind, Phoenix did the same, moving from his office chair and to the window sill, closing the blinds and sparing them both the burden of the city lights. He relocated to the coffee table in front of Miles, busying himself straightening its records , contemplating the next course of conversation.

Blood Moon

Miles used logic as best he could in his current state. As much as his mind was his own blood lust ravaged him. Savagely pushing himโ€” more motivating then the pure adrenaline with which he had ran earlier this evening. Worse then any sort of high heโ€™d experienced. He could only think of Elevators or earthquakesโ€ฆ the two things capable of reducing him to a shrivelling mess. This felt like that experience on steroidsโ€” yet it lacked the drive to unconsciousness. He was caught awake as the hunger consumed him. With that he was pulled from the cold of water.
Forced to stand. The night airโ€” normally crisp now painfully sharp in his breath. His hands shook. Afraid to hold this stranger, afraid to move. Something beast like hung about them in the night air. There scent heavy in his nose. The only heat seemed to come from his companion. Realising just how cold he felt. How all the heat had left him. Intoxicated with the dry burning inside of him. Cold and empty. The voice was clear and firm.
Whist under a sane mind Miles might have thought about it more.
Would have argued against this.
But the scent was so close. Heat blooming under skin. His eyes dilated with hunger. Red, crimson as his clothing. This strangerโ€™s hand drew him close. His teeth slid in instinct. Sharp, canine in natureโ€ฆ Fangs slid until they hovered against a thrumming pulse. Instincts knowing what was next.
Now that he had found it.
This was the spot to bite!
Tender fleshโ€” ready to brim with blood.
His mouth widened and sank. Piercing cleanly. The blood burst into his mouth. The taste almost dizzying at first. Eyes rolled shut and he clung to the stranger out of necessity. It took him a while. Sucking with a desperation. Yet finally he forced himself to let go. Tongue lapping the small puncture wounds. Taking any blood which remained. Filled for now, for a brief moment his eyes hovered to a soft silver colour. More sane, less dilated. He still wobbled slightly.
Fidgeting. His head finally on straight. Vision clearing. Feeling his fangs in his mouth. Licking the blood upon his own lip. Knowing that his hunger was not solved for long. His teeth ached with the change. His body didnโ€™t register the chill of frozen water to the same extent. His night vision seemed astonishingly clear now that heโ€™d fed.
"I have a lot of questionsโ€ฆ. Iโ€™m unsure where to startโ€ฆ but for now I owe you my thanks for saving meโ€ฆ I hate to ask more of you, but Iโ€™d like to go home. Please. Could you help me with thatโ€ฆ? โ€” Uhm, I apologise I donโ€™t know your nameโ€ฆ?โ€
Politeness said that Miles should introduce himself. Yet the words did not flow.
Shock still hovering over him.
I am not human any longerโ€ฆ.
ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  what am Iโ€ฆ
Am I even Miles Edgeworth?

Fucking ouch.

Not that he was experienced in being bitten, per se, but he hadn't expected the wound to even tingle after the freshly-turned vampire nicked him with but freshly-formed fangs. It dawned upon him that he hardly knew anything of vampires, despite his assumptions ; he'd only presumed that the bite wouldn't sting considering the vampire's physical state, and boy, was he wrong.

The initial bite was not necessarily excruciatingly painful, not at all ; it was when fangs made contact with veins that there was a wet popping sound, and a wolfish yelp on his part. Tanned hands went to brawny, pale shoulders, squeezing in unease, but the pain quickly melted away. The rest of the time, he became fairly aware of the man's lips on his neck, but said nothing.

It seemed strange- humans had always depicted certain intimacy in the gesture, and it was now that he had a full-on experience of why that was. Lips on his neck , adrenaline coursing throughout his body, as well as the sticky, wet liquid being transferred from one place to another... there was something very, veryย strange about it. All the man was doing was feeding, but...

It felt as though he had just cut himself open and offered himself to the man before him , as if he had put his life in the other's hands. In a sense, he had - one wrong move, and his veins could be sliced ... but this feeling of his went beyond a literal sense. For a moment, there was nothing but emptiness and the feeling of the man sucking at his neck . . . but when he parted, it was over.

His senses sharpened ten fold in the next moment, the very oxygen on his lips not going unnoticed by the werewolf. He could hear everything from the movement of a small Mockingbird in a tree but ten or so feet away to the labored breathing of the man before him. The sky seemed clearer , and even his vision felt enhanced in some way, shape, or form foreign to his typical.

Abandoning the vampire's probable vernacular, his words slipped into the language of old.ย

โโ€ฆInsolitus. . .ย โž

Had he made a mistake ?

He knew not what could come of a half-vampire feeding upon a full-out werewolf under the full moon's kiss of the earth ; he was unsure such an occurrence had ever taken place in this world before. Surely, there was nothing to be worried about. This was a petty half-breed - what was the worst that could come of this moment ? Strengthened senses on a lack of blood ? Ridiculous.

He made no mistake. These were measly sight effects - there was nothing to be worried about.

It was time to take charge of the situation . This vampire was previously a mortal , and it was because of this fact that he was not he brightest of vampires. If this man were to survive a day on his own in his pitiful future, he would need guidance. There was no chance permitting him exit would do him any good ; upon the first rays of sunshine signifying morning, he would die.ย

Nego. . .I mean, no . You may not return home. I've not the slightest clue to which land you are familiar, but the nearest city - Los Angeles- is over fifteen miles our North. These mountains are isolated, these woods, secluded, and it is here, nature and earth lives in harmony. This is a good place for you to grow .ย ย ย โž

A soft grunt, and he discovers himself rubbing at the wound - two fairly clean, bloodless puncture marks โ€”ย any less and he would have killed the man. He feels foolish and willingly defiled, but he ignored the guilty conscious his decision has generated.ย

โย You'll stay here. ย Worry not, for I've no reason to have sour meat laying around ; once I've taught you all you need to know, I'll release you. You must rely on me for this situation, for I doubt you'll make it on your own. Allow me to show you the ways of your kind - or, what I do know of your kind - rather than coping all by yourself. ย

My name is of no concern to you. There is nothing but yourself at the moment, understand? Now, let's make our way back to the cave.ย I'm the only werewolf of this hill, so you've spared yourself much awkwardness. Had there been, they'd kill you for the smell of wolf blood on your lips. We don't take kindly to the scent , you see.ย ย โž
