Too many story lines during the season and not enough time by the finale to wrap them up and give the cast equal screentime
It's clear that the ship 'Bethyl' appeals largely to younger people, who don't have any reason other than a shallow one, to pay attention to how brilliantly written and acted the Carol/Daryl relationship has been for four years. It is becoming clear that the writers don't give two shiny fucks about that ship, which has been building since season 1, and instead want us to believe Daryl would be that interested in a high school student. Ok. If Beth is alive, I fear they will build up a big Daryl/Beth reunion all while ignoring the once great ship that made Daryl so popular.
What is it you love most about Beth and Daryl?
I love the affect Beth has on Daryl. She’s gotten him to open up more than anyone else has. I love watching their scenes together. I also love the way Daryl looks at her. Not to mention, I think they’re super cute together. I always thought it would be really interesting if the two of them got together. Even before Season 4. I was never really a big Caryl fan (sorry, don’t hate me). Everyone has the right to ship who they want :)
