The way Taylor formatted The Alchemy is so clever because the structure itself symbolizes the alchemy she’s talking about throughout the song with her, with fans, with a football player. Alchemy being: the joining or combining of two things you think intrinsically wouldn’t work together but somehow, almost magically, form a bond so tight it seems natural. First half of the song is about Taylor and her career, coming back on tour, and her relationship with fans. Thats also alchemy. Second half is about her and Travis/football, also something set in a stadium but quite different. And the alchemy is what happened when this unlikely pair - pop singer with a legion of fans and football dude - formed a connection. A guy who at surface maybe seemed all about the bros and winning trophies but at the end of the day goes straight to her. So genius!!
