oh and by the way.

“men are evil” and “masculinity is bad” is just the new way of saying that “boys will be boys”.

not only is masculinity not evil, it also gives a get out of jail free card for men who behave badly. it gives them an opportunity to say “oh I’m just a guy, can’t help it”.

nope. men aren’t evil. and the ones that are bad shouldn’t be able to get out of it because they “can’t help it”.

No experience more viscerally humiliating than walking through a heavily populated building with squeaky shoes. Look at me doing my little clown walk across the entire length of the building. Dumbass squeaking noises ringing out with every step. Sounds like I'm walking on two guinea pigs. I wish I was dead

Unpopular opinion but literally not one person in the world should have their human rights violated

If one person's rights can be waved away, so can yours

Fuck it, adding on: This is why it's frustrating to see criminal defense lawyers getting a bad rep.

The right to a fair trial is a human right. In practice, a fair trial necessitates a lawyer. This means that even if somebody committed the worst crimes you could possibly imagine, they still deserve a lawyer.

Somebody has to defend them as a matter of human rights. As one of my professors said, way back in my first semester at uni: "Everybody deserves to have somebody in their corner."

Every time i see a post or tweet about twilight being gay culture or hilarious I just think about how the Quileute tribe of Washington had to set up a website specifically to combat racist misinformation that was being spread about their history and customs by stephenie meyer. Like she really just took an existing group of people with millennia of actual history and an actual mythos and culture and then just made shit up to fit her sexy mormon abstinence only tract

Donate to help the Quileute Nation move their culture and community center to higher ground now that climate change is threatening their current infrastructure.

My dad, Mike Sellers, was recently diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer. My sisters (@tangentmusings and @sheliesshattered) and I have set up this GoFundMe to help him and our mom.

Please share this wherever you can. Thanks ❤

Mike is a father of six, a grandfather many times over, and has been married to the love of his life for over 40 years. He has spent his life innovating in software and video games, and for the last several years he has headed up the Game Design program at Indiana University, mentoring the next generation of game developers. He is a graduate of the International School in Manila and Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, an active member of the LDS church, and a frequent Boy Scout leader.
Mike and his family are facing a battle against this cancer, and with that comes a financial battle to cover the costs. In addition to covering the medical bills until his and Jo Anna’s insurance takes over for this year and in the future, they will need help paying for procedures not covered by their insurance, gas for driving back and forth between Bloomington and Indianapolis for Mike’s treatments, readying their house for sale, and the loss of his wages.
Mike has spent his life engaged in creative pursuits and is known for his humor and quick wit. He has researched and developed innovative technology in the fields of video games and artificial intelligence, in addition to being a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher. He has been a driving force behind IU’s Game Design program and the many young minds shaped there, as well as developing dozens of games and AI projects over the years.
This cancer diagnosis has hit Mike and his family very hard, and derailed many future dreams. Your love and support during this time mean the world to us. Please give what you can. Any little bit helps.

Update 22 Oct 2021:

We have been absolutely blown away by the response this has garnered! We knew our dad had touched many, many lives over the years, but seeing the evidence of it in your comments and donations has been truly incredible. Thank you so, so much, everyone! The initial goal of $30,000 was a guess for a minimum amount necessary, but also as everyone knows, cancer treatments get very expensive very fast. For the time being, Mike is unable to work and whether he will be able to return to teaching or not following his initial course of chemotherapy and radiation is still unknown. With everyone’s generosity, we are hoping to be able to cover at least some of those lost wages. We are therefore raising the goal amount, so that anyone who wants to continue giving still can and isn’t deterred by seeing the initial amount fully funded already. As always, every bit helps towards covering Mike’s care and his and family’s living expenses, no matter whether we reach any given goal or not. Thank you again to everyone who has shared, donated, and commented. Your words and generosity mean the world to us and to our dad, Mike. Sincerely, Vanessa Nielson, Jez Sellers, and Samantha LeCraft

Why was Shrek’s soundtrack so incredible like who sat down and decided that a movie about an ogre would have a beautiful Rufus Wainwright ballad followed by a Smash Mouth/Eddie Murphy cover of I’m A Believer and how can I thank them
