rothko in the turner gallery???

I can't get it right in the photo but going absolutely bonkers over the way the colors just like. blur across from the rothko (1950) to the turner (1845). this whole room is full of these abstract colors it's like they're bleeding between the picture frames with no regard for time

wait wait hold on a second.

“sex/romance/empathy makes us human,” they say. awful. pathetic. what makes us human is the urge to set things on fire

you’re actually correct!

Cooking is the one thing that only humans do and can be directly linked to the increase in our brain size

Burning the mammoth flank just a lirtle instead of eating it raw gives grug more calorie to think. Grug thinking about color symbolism in silence of the lambs

Toddlers are so pure. She doesn’t understand that we help her with certain things because she’s little. She thinks that everyone just helps each other like that. So she tries to blow on my food and cut it up for me and tries to help me put on my shoes.

the cutest thing is when you encounter a toddler in the wild and they try to help you, so you have to kneel there and nod very seriously while they lecture you about traffic or holding hands or whatever. the other day a little girl stopped dancing to make sure sure i knew how to correctly press the elevator button at my apartment complex. ‘it lights up, see?’ she said. i agreed that it did light up and thanked her sincerely for letting me know. it made my whole fucking day.

I love when you find an author who just has a good flavor to their writing. It could be the way they handle characters, the way they use certain tropes or themes, even the specific lilt of their words. Its familiar and comforting and carries across different stories, like coming back to a place of comfort and recognizing the furniture.
