I've seen this post before, and I love how a screenshot of a random opinion on a random wikia page is supposed to be some sort of authority.

Also, telling people they have to hold certain mainstream political beliefs to be punk is, ironically, against the founding ethos of punk. These folks want to be the plucky rebels when they're actually the establishment.

Also wasn’t Metalgate (or something like it) a like a thing back around gamergate because the metalheads were getting pissed off about all the leftist culture trying to push in and change their space?

It makes me sad to see that they wormed their way into the metal community. In all my years as a metalhead, the metal community was always the most accepting and welcoming bunch of people around. Sure, there were shitheads and elitists as there is with most things and more often than not they were told to shut the fuck up. Overall, they were great. No one cared who you were, if you were wearing a metal t-shirt, you were cool. People would stop in the street and we’d have a good old chat about what Slayer albums we liked.

But, like with many things, these parasites infested the community and tore it apart from within.
