❇~ “A-Ah! My apologies… I was. I didn’t know this area was off-limits…”
She should have expected it, however. The Church in Janna was not dissimilar to this place, and there the upper levels were restricted to the priests and higher clergy. But the architecture in this cathedral was so interesting, similar and yet different to her home, that Arria couldn’t help but take interest. Interest that had led her to this place and getting startled by the sudden raised voice in front of her.
“I was simply…” Well, it didn’t matter. What mattered was that her presence was not desired. “… I’ll leave at once.”
Of course she didn’t. Probably because the guards were slacking off again. At least that was what Asch hoped; it was easier to tear a strip out of them then to deal with figuring out why the usual guard rotation had been disrupted. More of Van’s doing; he had to be pulling all those forces from somewhere. Just what the hell was he up to? Asch for one planned to get to the bottom of it, but that came after dealing with this.
“Forget it,” he answered with a disgruntled huff.
“I can’t just leave you to wander the place, so you’re going to have to follow me.” Why the hell was this his job, anyway? Where was everyone?
“What were you doing down here, anyway? It’s not like you can mistake this for the way to the Chapel.”
