These kinds of laws did/do exist already in a way, they're called anti-crossdressing laws. These laws say you must be wearing a certain amount of clothing items "intended" for your assigned birth sex, usually around 3 minimum. Keeping in a lot mind these were written when women couldn't wear pants.

These laws were the things used to target trans and GNC people which may have led to the Stonewall Riots, as police forced out most of the gender conforming gay people and kept in GNC and trans people to be inspected.

They currently either aren't enforceable (due to federal privacy laws superceding them) or simply aren't enforced, but they are still on the books (which means they can become enforable) in some places, though it is currently hard to find a list. New York's law was only repealed in 2021.
