Titus Kaphar was born in 1976 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He currently lives and works between New York and Connecticut, USA. His artworks interact with the history of art by appropriating its styles and mediums. Kaphar cuts, bends, sculpts and mixes the work of Classic and Renaissance painters, creating formal games and new tales between fiction and quotation.

knitting tutorial made by a seventy-something grandmother: two min long, filmed 17 years ago, shows you what you want with the skilled patient hands of a beloved deity, made with the world’s shittiest camera, the best video on the fucking internet, four comments and 30 views, you lose the video and never find it again.

Seconding this. It's not fun and it's not cute when you get hurt in a way that can't be fixed. Even if it feel like just pretend to you it is still real life with real people, and can have real consequences.

Fatphobia is so bizarre and pervasive. My dog doesn't know the words "roll over" but he does know "where's your big fat tummy!!" as his command to roll onto his back. One of my aunts saw me give him this command and said "don't say that!! You'll make him feel bad!!! :0" as if 1. My dog weren't already a healthy, active border collie and 2. He has any concept of self image beyond being praised and babied every time he sticks out his tongue

i've posted about it before but bariatric surgery has a terrible record of poor outcomes and complications. it works for some people but almost always leads to vitamin deficiencies at best. very unethical medicine imo
