oh goody a pony cleaning instruction vid-

WHAT THE FUCK

oh the what the fuck requires sound (or captions) by the way

Transcript:

sometimes, when you’ve been collecting ponies for a while, you get one and then you realize that’s the last one you needed in a set. today the pony I’m washing is mommy bright bouquet; she’s part of the loving family pony line. these ponies were sold as families of three. in the united states they came all in one big box, though i believe in the uk they were packaged separately and you could also buy an additional sibling. but whatever country you’re collecting in, they are vintage toys, and it’s obviously really common for them to get separated over the years, so you’re pretty much just gonna pick them up one at a time. in my case, i started actively collecting in around 2004, and at that time hasbro was not manufacturing any boy ponies. which means when i was looking at the vintage toys, i was very drawn to those. so from the family sets, i tried to get dad ponies. in the case of the bright bouquets, i actually already have a dad and a baby, so i was pretty excited when i was going through my big bag of ponies that need restoring, and i saw that the mom was in there. i think it cleaned up really nicely, and it’s going to look great on my shelf, next to the family. but, i have to wonder: from the pony’s perspective, does she just accept this as a happy reunion? can she not tell these apart from her original husband and child, or does she feel in her bones that something is not quite right? and, of the two possibilities, which one would be worse?

yeah yeah yeah mortifying ordeal of being known and all that but sometimes a friend mentions something about you that you didn’t think was noticeable and it feels like your heart is being cradled in their hands

This is the only real tall girl in anime

There are other women in anime who are taller but never have I seen a series make tallness so obvious and awkward the way it is irl. She is just there dominating every frame by doing nothing at all. She doesn't even fit on screen half the time

A collection of all the wizards I’ve drawn over the past year or so! Some of them used to have gray backgrounds, but now they’re all nice and colorful 🧙‍♂️✨

God, I can't tell you how much the "there's not enough enrichment in my enclosure" joke has helped my mental health. Because, for some reason I can't comprehend, pretending that I'm a zoo keeper caring for an animal (which is also me) just makes everything easier to comprehend. Like "Your head gets screwey when you're apartment is messy" just doesn't carry as much resonance as "The tiger becomes agitated when its enclosure is cluttered" because then I'll be like, no shit? The tiger? I've gotta keep things nice and clean for the tiger.

In light of the news that Hasbro is considering using multiple properties it owns for NFTs, including D&D, I would just like to remind everyone that PDFs of virtually all D&D source books are available online for free if you look and it's always moral to pirate from WotC

GOOD ADDITION thank u @asexualglimmer

Might I recommend Honey Heist? Some friends and I have played a few one-shot sessions and it's incredibly fun. Blades in the Dark and Lancer are a couple more that my friends have spoken highly of, although I haven't tried them myself

And I can't forget Paranoia, which is probably the single most fun ttrpg I've ever played

Feel free to share your faves as well! I love hearing about new systems to try

[headhands] I know these games aren't like DnD, that is the entire point, that tabletop games as a genre contain multitudes and not everything needs to look or feel or play like DnD and not everyone realizes that because DnD is so culturally pervasive as The Tabletop Game
