I don’t use Tumblr anymore, and neither do you. However, this is where we began and where we existed entirely (with the exception of that one night in LA), so I feel like this is where I should put this. I just want to thank you for showing me what I deserved from a partner. It was from the way you spoke to me that I realized I must be recognized as the goddess I am. It was from the intimacy we created while far apart that I realized I could let someone in who was close. It was everything I needed at that time, and I think you did too, and it was everything Bukowski wrote about in that one poem, so it was perfect.

Today I was all hungover and this babe let me shower first and made me mashed potatoes. Then we got out and got our fingers sized, window shopped, and had dinner and drinks. I'm so in love with this man and our life.
I woke up in a suuuper pissy mood, went to go get bagels, and when I came back Alex could tell I was off. He held me and kissed me and told me all the fun things I could do today. I got up to make breakfast and he put on Flashdance and danced with me until I cried from laughing. No one has ever tried so hard to make me feel better... Even in this dark mood, I'm feeling super blessed.

Cultural appropriation: the adoption of certain elements (bindi, niqab, etc) of an oppressed people’s culture/practice by a privileged dominant culture, for the purposes of enjoyment (or to appear exotic and “hipster”), and without the adoption of the experiences of racism, oppression, and discrimination that are manifested in those elements for the minority groups. Cultural appropriation is Khloe being praised for wearing something that Muslim women get abused and discriminated against for wearing on the daily. It is when Khloe wears it for an Instagram post, while Muslim women devotedly choose to wear it to follow their faith, despite the racism and discrimination they (we) face.
