Random explanations:
Cora and Law were defective gems, as you can see their gems were not complete, Law also had a virus (the amber lead) that was destroying his gem, Cora tries to help he as we know, but ends up being attacked by Doflamingo. At this moment Law manages to merge with Cora-san seconds before her gem breaks. He getting to keep the gem of Cora complete but unable to hold together on their own and present physical form (or light form) Therefore they must remain fused continuously or Cora would end up dying.
This is why Law, although it is currently a fusion, does not have more arms or eyes or any benefit, since basically it is fused with someone “ dead ” or about to die, because of this its current appearance, and the loss of color red in its natural skin of its gem. (By the way, his torso is supposed to be transparent, but you only see the skeleton and not the organs because the gems do not have organs … or do you? maybe they do not even have skeleton xD but whatever)
Actually Law will be in a fight against time to achieve de-fusion with Cora-san but without him dying to separate, that is to say that he seeks a cure for the gems that are broken. He wants to bring Cora back.

//Little late to the party, but hey! I finally remembered my password! Basil here is a Cat’s eye Apatite, though I thought about a lavender Sapphire too. But I wanted to give him a third eye, so we’re stuck with this for now. He doesn’t have stars or triangles on his outfit cause he’s more of a neutral party, probably off somewhere looking for space cats.
