saw a poll about whether you prefer corruption or redemption arcs and i realized that for me it's not really either, it's a distillation arc: when a character becomes the most intense version of what they could be, everything inessential falling away or being discarded so that only the core remains.

great tags by @neuxue #'while you were busy being doomed by the narrative I used it as a whetstone and became the blade'

can you recommend me stories like this?

The fun thing about having a Tumblr is that I don't have to go through the very taxing exercise of choosing the perfect series to hyperfixate on. Tumblr will just continuously show me gifset of two gays like it's a sign from God saying "here, these are your new support gays, cherish them" and that's that yk. It really saves me a lot of trouble

Asians can make it into the American music industry.

This is something that has mind on my mind for a while. I have seen many mixed races make it onto the Billboard charts, such as Latinos, Blacks, Whites, and other foreign artists. I can’t seem to remember that besides Psy and Charice, Big Bang, 2NE1, EXO, Wonder Girls, Girls’ Generation, and Far East Movement, no artist of full Asian blood has ever been successfully known in the United States. Well, there was that GG broadcast on David Letterman and Regis and Kelly, and 2NE1 on The Bachelor, Wonder Girls on Nickelodeon, but the consumer market for each show wasn’t enough for people to notice these fantastically talented groups from Asia. It was only a ploy to gain publicity and recognition, which was a fail plan to me.

The point I am making is this: The logic of Asians breaking into the industry used to be so slim, now it’s slowly starting to expand. Our society now accepts logical nature: it takes time, however, and patience. Stereotype roles within each racial group are starting to diminish and our acceptance rate is very steady.

Look at the music America is making right now. It spells out “Money” and “Profit”. It may be a lot of hard work for producers and songwriters, but it is only cash toward big music company CEO’s. Artists here aren’t an influence toward any age group at all at the moment. All they’ve been doing is smoking weed, getting into car accidents, and being little brats on camera. I understand that being young makes us feel that we have an objective to do wild things before we actually handle the responsiblities of being an adult, but do we understand the consequences of what we do? I don’t know. Probably it doesn’t occur in the minds of these artists who are getting into trouble.

What if a whole new perspective came in? What if all of these opinions I’ve given out tonight were completely overturned? We’ve been so used to the American standard of entertainment, we don’t realize its flaws whole heartedly; only bits and pieces.

I can’t say for sure that it will EVER happen, but everyone has a different perspective of life. We’ve been through only what Americans and Europeans have seen of life through music. How it affected us, it is an individually divided impact, so I can’t speak for other people no more than myself. What about the other corners of the universe? What can we offer to the rest of the world to be recognized? For Asian people, it is a much different perspective on music.

Music is what we have to get away from the pressures of hard work monstrosity and a grueling education system that has always been number one. Music captivates us into another world where we are ourselves and we are really happy. All these song writers and producers in Asia put so much passion into their compostions into their work, it’s crazy. It is as if they are parallel toward the American music industry, but they incorporate what they themselves want to hear instead of what the general public wants to hear; this is one of the factors that makes us so sonically captivating in terms of music. We put determination, motivation, and power into whatever we do, why not put it into music?

Even though I have this logical thinking that will not be accepted by everybody, Asians can now thoroughly and slowly make it into the American music industry. All it takes is for the RIGHT ARTIST or GROUP, with the correct sense of a target market, appeal, marketing strategy, charisma, and stage presence to prove Americans that we exist, and we want to earn our place in the media, to get the American spotlight.

(NOTE: This is solely my opinion and my perception of the music industry and also the world itself. Please don’t be afraid to talk to me, I enjoy listening to other people’s opinions, no matter if it is the same or from a different viewpoint. Thank you for listening to me~ ♡♡♡)
