See I'm not sure whether I want Raul to play Marcone or Nicodemus.
Fancasts are difficult and subjective, so feel free to disagree, but I just love the thought of Raúl Esparza as Marcone. He’s got eyes the colour of dollar bills, he could totally pull off Marcone’s cold pragmatism, and he looks excellent in expensive suits… I like those moments where Marcone is all smiles but you can see the gears turning and the loathing/annoyance behind his expression. Raúl is really good at that kind of thing. Also what I love most about Marcone is his ability to piss off Dresden without much effort. He might be a scary bad guy, but he’s also undeniably funny, and Raúl’s characters tend to be great at getting other people to make fools of themselves.
I think he’s less suited to Nicodemus, mostly because I imagine Nicodemus to be older, and also I don’t think Raúl is quite creepy-looking enough to play him. I wouldn’t say no, but I just prefer him as Marcone. What can I say, I’m biased :P. These days, every time I read a scene with Marcone in it, I imagine Raúl Esparza playing it and it gets even better xD.
