Will you ever do the monthly prompts again?
To be perfectly honest, Iโm not sure.
As the saying goes, "Never say never", but it would be pretty poetic if our final prompt was the one I posted on our seven year anniversary, don't you think?
As I mentioned in our โEnd of an Eraโ post, there have been many factors that ultimately made me decide to wind things down here, but in light of almost all the major horrible global events this year, on a personal level Iโve been feeling pretty burnt out. Before crap really hit the fan, I was just starting to piece together an idea for one final hurrah for the blog / community, but 2020 happened and Terrible Global Events definitely left an impact on me. (Also the tumblr update around that time completely busted my dashboard, so I couldnโt even do my quick art queue-ing that I typically do for GHQ. Even after xkit found a fix for it, I never really got that energy back, which is another reason why things have been pretty dead here).
All in all, I guess it comes down to a of lack of time and energy. I donโt like sharing too many personal things on this blog because this isnโt a personal blog and frankly Iโm a private person, but Iโm currently working three jobs so that also doesnโt leave me with much time for this blog, let alone myself.
We still have Seven Years worth of prompts and three years worth of Monthly Gem Challenges (as well as the 30 Day Gemsona Challenge and the Gemsona Stats Sheets). As for anything else however, Iโm afraid things are going to be quiet around here for a while. In the meantime, I hope you all take care of yourselves and stay safe. (On a somewhat related matter, if you live in the US, please vote, and vote early! And donโt vote for that Orange idiot!)

Re: the question of the โBody horrorโ tag on posts.
Not all fusions are labeled this way (sometimes we add that tag on regular gem posts too). Steven Universe did depict a variety of designs with their fusions, so typically gems / fusions sharing similar features donโt need the warning tag since itโs not new and people who are familiar with the show shouldnโt be too surprised by it (though there are exceptions to this norm). Ultimately, the โBody Horrorโ warning tag is used at our discretion or when people specifically ask for something to be tagged, so occasionally we use that as a blanket tag.
We never use this tag to criticize someoneโs work, hopefully it doesnโt come across that way. Hopefully this answers your question!
