Omi Youichirou 3/1 Blog - “Dear Everyone”

Hello, this is Omi Youichirou. I’m very sorry for this sudden announcement. I, Omi Youichrou, will graduate from D-BOYS and the entertainment industry on March 31st, 2016. This act might be a betrayal of everyone who has supported me, helped me, waited for me, and cheered me on until now. Even if I graduate right now, I really don’t think I’ll regret it 10 years from now. After thinking it over many times, this is the conclusion I came to. The truth is, right after 2016 started, my grandmother died suddenly. Apparently up until the day before, she had been perfectly healthy, and enjoyed a New Years Party with her friends and family. It was truly shocking how sudden it was. But thinking about it, even in her 70s, my grandmother was still enjoying golfing and taking onsen trips with her children, her grandchildren, and her friends. She played and laughed to her heart’s content. I think she enjoyed her life to the fullest up to the end. I’m sure she didn’t have any regrets. In my memories of my grandmother, she was always smiling. So I think her life was wonderful to an enviable extent. Certainly a lot of people came to her funeral. I had a lot of fun conversations with my grandmother where she told me a lot. She showed me mountains of amazing photos. I don’t want to have any regrets either. I only felt this more strongly after looking at my grandmother’s life. Actually, there’s a dream I’ve had since back when I was in school. That dream is in a totally different field from the one I’ve been working in, and somehow the fact that I never got to attempt it kept pulling at me. In the entertainment industry, I set out to do what I could with the best of my ability. I struggled in my own way, no matter how uncool it may have been. There is nothing left for me to do. Rather, I think that someday I would definitely regret pretending not to see the dream that I had since so long ago.  Now is my last chance. With this reasoning, in order to attempt a new path, I decided to graduate from the entertainment world at this time. I’m sure that I’ll keep experiencing plenty of tough things and hard times from here on. But I’ll strive to move forward and live to my fullest without forgetting the way I feel now. It would make me happy if you could send me off warmly. During the time I spent in the entertainment industry, there were good times and there were hard times, but I was truly happy. To the staff that supported me, my family, my friends, and above all else, every one of you who supported me: I’m absolutely not exaggerating when I say that I wouldn’t be here as I am right now if even a single one of you hadn’t been there. I entered the entertainment industry at 20. A lot of things have happened since then, but I will never forget these nearly 7 years. They’re an amazing treasure to me. Thank you so much. And if you can, please support me from now on. Omi Youichirou
