If Trump proves to be so toxic that he drives GOP straight-ticket voters away and depresses turnout, and Democrats swoop in and make substantial gains in the House and especially the Senate, Mitch McConnell’s obstructionist obstinacy in refusing to fill a SCOTUS seat will mean that a Democratic President can appoint whomever the fuck they want and get their nominee through without the bullshit and hassle Obama has been fighting.

Uncharacteristically (for me), this post has blown up (okay, a hundred-and-change notes is tiny fries around here when there are things in the millions, but it still totally lochnessed my activity graph), which makes me feel oddly and uncomfortably prescient, given candidate Trump’s remarks on 9 Aug regarding 2A voters and potential-President Clinton’s impact.

I mean, I seriously doubt GOP operatives are turning to me as some kind of political bellwether, even though I’m probably smarter than they are, and certainly smarter than their nominee, but I’m an unelectable asshole who knows he’s an unelectable asshole.

We’re talking heavy stuff today, so have a cute. This photo is from the Columbus Zoo (although I can’t ID the animals) and is totally appropriate. Cheetahs often are raised with companion dogs due to their nervous natures. The dogs basically provide emotional support and help the cheetahs stay calm - if their companion isn’t stressed (and they pick very chill dogs for this task), they’re less likely to be stressed as well.  

something that I feel a lot of neurotypicals don’t understand is that mental illness isn’t logical. “there’s no reason to be stressed, why are you anxious?” I don’t know. “why are you sad if you had a good day?” I don’t know. “why are you so irritable today?” I don’t know. “what are you feeling?” I DON’T KNOW.

“Why are you anxious?” because i have anxiety. “No but why are you anxious?” i literally have a mental disorder called anxiety that makes me anxious over nothing. “but what is making you anxious????”
