I wonder how evident and eye-opening it would be if everyone *over a certain age* stopped producing fandom content.
I also can’t help but think of how important it is for me to see/ know of women who are many years older than me and are still doing their thing. It helps beat back the idea that someday I’ll have to put away things like this and be “a real grown up”. (Anyone have any idea of content created only for women *of a certain age*? If such a thing exists it’s got tropes done right, women who get shit done, women who say fuck you to societal expectations, women who have strong friendships, women who have good sex- wait a minute…I tell you, it’s almost like women *of a certain age* are creating the content they want to see. And these poor young things are having it foisted upon them. Wont somebody think of the children!?)
Here’s hoping I’m reading saucy fanfic in my nursing home. And I figure after a few more decades of good sex my writing can only improve.

For real? Because I passed 38 4 yrs ago. I plan to be playing games and getting game gift cards in the nursing home and with that comes fangirling . Also, umm most of the actors I fangirl over including voice actors are my damn age or close enough.
It’s ok, I’ll just be fanwomaning instead.
I can’t help but laugh at those people who think that there are age brackets for things. You can enjoy things at any time and at any age. Just because you pass a certain age doesn’t mean you have to stop enjoying things that you were in the past. Stop thinking that to be considered an adult you have to check certain boxes. From getting to know a wide variety of differently aged people its become quite obvious that adulthood is generally just a “ill do this and hope it works out” kind of scenario. Do what you love, no matter your age.
