I don’t ‘zone out’. Being zoned out is my default state, and I occasionally zone back in to check how things are going.

This is so baffling. Children being oppressed isn’t a “2021 take”, it’s something people have been arguing for at least a hundred years. You’re not predicting anything. It’s not even some fringe belief that nobody takes seriously, why do you think the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is a thing? This is a widely recognised problem. Moreover, the example of kids not being able to transition without parental permission… Yeah? That’s a huge fucking issue that causes trans kids tons of misery? How do you look at the status of children in this society, clearly being aware of the issues that trans children face, and think “wouldn’t it be so wacky and weird if someone argued that children are oppressed?”
