also how culture works
Maybe it’s better to have the terrible times first. I don’t know. Maybe then, you can have, if you live, a better life, a real life, because you had to fight so hard to get it away⸺you know?⸺from the mad dog who held it in his teeth. But then your life has all those tooth marks, too, all those tatters and all that blood.
James Baldwin This morning, this evening, so soon
I will love you fully, to the best of my ability, with my whole heart. But I will not be scared to walk away, if it turns out that the sadness is not worth the happiness that you do bring me.
I don’t need you, but I need to be happy within myself.

Israel isn't just breaking international law. It's creating precedent and changing it to make this violence permissible. What happens to Palestinians matters for everyone, everywhere. It sets a precedent that means no where else in the globe is safe. What more do we need to act?

THE SWAN
One time I was honestly minding my business I swear I was when a swan waddled right up to me & said can you help me find a way out of this sadness? I could, I was sure of it, but I was also running late to an appointment that I could not be late for. It was an appointment for my own sadness, and for my own way out of it. The appointment was held every hour on the grassy knoll about two miles from my house. Once there, I would strip the fog which hung on the air like clothes & I would put as much of it in my bag as I could, which wasn't much, but it was enough. The swan, if my knowledge of swans was correct, could have the rest.]

Rocca Imperiale
Similar to Dante’s hell or Christmas tree, Rocca Imperiale is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and gateway to the beautiful region of Calabria.
