Going on permanent hiatus for personal reasons. I may be back on a different account later, but that probably won’t be for a little while at least.
To my mutuals, followers, and anyone else reading this, goodbye & best of luck to you!

magen david adom is the israeli emergency medical and blood bank service. years ago they saved my bubbe’s life after a bad fall in jerusalem. they are saving lives now, and they serve everyone that they can get to.
i am going to donate in her memory and i encourage you to do so as well if you’re able.
United Hatzala are a community-based volunteer emergency medical services (EMS) organization who provide services completely free of charge, regardless of race, religion, or nationality. they've made it their mission to arrive as fast as possible, often before ambulances, and have trained thousands of volunteers, Jews, Muslims, and Christians alike. they serve hundreds of thousands of people a year.
they're another good organization to donate to, if you're so inclined.
Three cats died after their owners used an anti-inflammatory cream used to treat arthritis. The Food and Drug Administration warns to keep drugs away from pets; a tiny bit can be toxic.
Important for spoonies with cats! Creams with Flurbiprofen are fatal to cats. Brands that use this chemical (Not a complete list): Myoflex Traumeel Capzasin If you have cats, check your pain relieving cream for this, and keep them from ingesting it, please!
Oh no! Boosting for all cat owners.
All NSAIDs are toxic to cats - this includes ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin), Aleve (naproxen), Voltaren – which also comes in a gel form – (diclofenac), Mobic (meloxicam), aspirin… If you’re unsure, ask your pharmacist or check drugs.com.
Signed, your friendly local former pharmacist
Historically Queer is $170 from funding! It would rock if we could get Enheduanna unlocked before I go AFK for Shabbat. Can we do it?
I am aware that on social media all you can see of other people is what they post about…
That said, the late tendency on this hellsite whenever things happen in the world especially for Americans has lately REALLY gone towards “stating your opinion (preferably loudly!) is the only important thing to do as long as you make sure you’re correct first,” because it’s easy and people get a rush out of feeling righteous. I notice this specifically in contrast to years past when it was a lot more easy to find information about and concern for the impacts of violence, which is disturbing.
I don’t know what people have or haven’t done IRL, but I will say this:
A lot of people in Gaza have just lost their access to reliable food, water, and shelter. A lot more are about to, as they’ve been ordered to leave a blockaded area which is currently under heavy fire, which they cannot. There is great need for medical care.
If you are able and moved to want to help but can’t figure out how to from abroad, start here to cross-check organizations:
and here are two currently-active charities which are I think well-known but also highly-rated for safety & effectiveness.
MSF (Doctors Without Borders): medical personnel & equipment
MAUSA: Medical aid & equipment; food; hygiene packages
I saw your post about how your non Jewish friends won’t show support, and I know we’ve never spoken but-
How do I show support besides just spreading awareness? Do you have any suggestions?
[Said in good faith, I want to be able to support the community I wish to become part of even if I’m not very far on my journey. Please correct me if I’m ignorant :>]
Here is another good organization.
It also means a lot to us to just show up to a vigil or your nearby synagogue and tell the people there you stand with them. We need to hear it. Most of us feel like no one cares about us. You don't have to bring flowers or food or anything but just showing up and showing your support means more than you will ever know. At shul the other night a woman came in during services and said "I am so sorry. I'm thinking of your people. I'm praying for you all." And that almost made me cry.
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. We provide immediate medical aid to those in great need, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.
you can read more about their ongoing emergency response here
Responding to this emergency situation, Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP)’s team on the ground in Gaza are releasing all of our pre-positioned stocks, worth $570,000 USD (approximately £465,000), to ensure hospitals and emergency responders have the supplies they need to cope with an unprecedented influx of casualties. The list of supplies provided by MAP includes essential drugs and disposables, lab reagents and support for Gaza’s blood bank services. Some of these supplies are already being delivered to Al Awda Hospital.
Hey y'all in the US. I just wanna say if you can today, consider contacting your local senator / state officials and voice concern / condemnation for the citizens of Gaza being collectively punished by the Israeli Govt. I don't know if there's a prompt or anything someone can use (If you wish to add a prompt, please do) but if you have the ability to do so it's important. https://www.senate.gov/senators/senators-contact.htm https://www.usa.gov/state-governor
fun fact: firefox can get around many "oops you already read 3 articles this month" paywalls very easily
step 1: click the reader mode button in your address bar
step 2: f5
that's it! that's all the steps.
Me and my roommates new housemate is in the middle of a nasty divorce from her abuser, and she is going to need to pay her lawyer more this week due to the changing nature of her case. I am trying to raise the money for her because she's still waiting on her disability case to go through. I will do art for anyone who gives $50+ just dm me at my art blog @theartistrans
$creepiecrippl
V: tab-99
She hasn't made any progress since this was posted and she still needs to pay this week.
I'm trying to put off having to make yet another donation post to pay the bills, and I know I can't for much longer. I'm so goddamn tired of doing it. It makes everything about being me so much worse.
I want to build my photography and my writing, not stress about the phone calls from bill collectors, and what/if I'm going to eat more than a single meal a day this week. I'm just. Tired.
Yeah, okay, I left it as long as I could.
Hi, I'm a disabled trans person with very limited income, and I'm doing what I can to build it up via photography prints and my patreon, so if that sounds cool, any and all support towards that would be incredible.
That said, I have $1,200 worth of bills to pay -- a car payment for my household with insurance to match, medications, etc.

Oh fan-fuckin'-tastic, ALL FOUR tires are fucked and I basically need to get them replaced as soon as I can. Which is $500 that. I do not have.
I had some time to chill down from the adrenaline crash of my day, and yeah, basically:
Walked out the door to drive to Tampa only to discover that the front right tire was flat as hell. Aired it up at the nearest gas station, found the screw. Okay. Go to Walmart, it's a four to five hour wait. Okay.
So, we go to Firestone. They turn out to be a two hour wait for them to tell us, very apologetically, "sorry, but you need to replace all four tires because of the tread, and no, we *really genuinely do not recommend* driving out of town in it if you can't do that."
The guy was great, and they didn't charge us for what was basically a diagnostic visit. Also great!
But I don't have $500 to get all four tires replaced. I didnt really have the initial $30 to get one patch. I'm already asking for so damn much and this. sucks.
So, yeah. Like I said in my initial ask for help with just, like, my general survival; if you can donate to help get the tires replaced, holy fuck, it's appreciated. Folks who've been here know that our car is kind of the only reason we're doing as well as we are, (and isn't that sad) and it's been one emergency after another with it this year. 🫠
as always thank you all so much 😭💖😭
To keep this post from getting ridiculously long, further total updates will be in the replies. As of right now, I'm at:
170/1700
current count 9:30 11/10/2023
official numbers
Israel
1200 dead
2900 injured
100-200 held by various groups. Hamas claims for a 100, the Jihad claims for 30
Gaza
950 dead
5000 injured
190000 displaced (Amnesty)
1500 dead Hamas operatives (according to the IDF this is the body count that was found withing Israeli borders)
notes and unconfirmed numbers
for those using my count posts to follow the situation, sorry for not doing an evening recap yesterday, the fog of war was thick and I was struggling to verify stuff
Jews of Tumblr: stay safe this Friday.
Stay safe always, but be especially vigilant this Friday.
If you haven't heard already, a leader of Hamas has called for global mobilization this Friday the 13th. Be prepared. Be safe. Stay vigilant.
Fellow non-jewish people, watch out for your neighbors. Be prepared to call 911 and if you know trauma aid, keep your kit by the door.
If you live near a synagogue, now is also a good time to call and ask if there’s a way you can help. Being a presence outside the door during Shabbat services, or walking Orthodox members to/from shul (the Orthodox do not drive on Shabbat), is an extremely big deal and help.
Hey warning for everyone but especially Jews:
Hamas has threatened that they're gonna start posting graphic videos of their torture/murder of their Jewish hostages in the next few hours on social media. These will be very graphic and very distressing, so please be very careful on sites like Instagram and TikTok when scrolling through recommended videos. Please do not share these videos and photos, it is part of the terroristic strategy. Also, because unfortunately there is no shortage of antisemites on Tumblr, please be careful when sent a video or photo on anon or from a user you don't recognize. These are intended to induce horror, don't help Hamas spread their message.
Just to make a point, every time I finished a panel of this I would export it as a PNG on the perceptual setting and use it as a color reference for the next panel
IT'S BAD
PLEASE CHECK YOUR COLOR SETTINGS
EDIT: If you're still having problems, it might help to switch from "Save/Save as" to "Export (as a) Single Layer". Just. Make SURE the box labeled "Expression Color" is set to RGB. I've been messing with this all day, and it looks like this combination of settings will allow exported PNGs to maintain their colors perfectly. To you. So far both Discord and Toyhouse still only display desaturated images and I cannot for the life of me figure out why
WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN ITS NOT JUST A MAC PROBLEM
GUYS IT HAPPENS WITH KRITA TOO

For Indigenous People’s Day I’d also like to throw out my own tribe’s water project - it’s becoming increasingly vital as protections surrounding Navajo land get stripped away & reservations are stripped of sovereignty, as the US government has poisoned our water before and will likely do so again without a second thought. Please consider donating to the Navajo Water Project, or giving this a reblog if you’d like. A’he’ee, thank you!
