Kyla Maxwell; survivor of the 2011 Decepticon invasion of Chicago; spent the last few years in hiding from Cemetery Wind after the death of her younger brother who was a soldier for NEST. Finally came crawling out of the woodwork and is in search of her Autobot friends...if they haven't been killed at Lockdown's hands.

Well damn that didn’t work. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out her cellphone and shrugged. “Ah well, can’t fault a girl for seeing if you’d be willing to help get rid of the government organization that had her brother killed for no good reason, right?” Her thumb quickly danced over the keypad of the phone as she spoke, sending her best friend a text.

Ultron watched her, his thoughts sentimental and sensitive. Raising a metal brow, he tilted his helm. “How did he die?” The Prime asked. “Whatever you answer with will not affect my decision,” he stated. “I do not do what is out of my path.”

"Oh I know it won’t but I was just wondering if you’d start with them first,” Kyla said, shoving her phone back in her pocket. “As for how my brother died, he um..he worked with the Autobots and...when the government turned against them, he stayed loyal to them so the government had him killed for it.”

Why was it so much easier to talk to this guy about it than anyone else?

“You and the Decepticons would get along so fucking well,” Kyla deadpanned, leaning her head back against the wall to calm herself and using every bit of willpower she had not to kick him in an attempt to get him away from her.

“Don’t compare me to anything other than myself, dammit!” His left arm shot out and his hand was embedded into the wall by at least fifteen centimetres. Bits of dust and small pieces of rubble fell, and the entire wall shook. He had such a vicious snarl on his face that the wall seemed to crack a little more.

“Besides, of what I’ve seen of the Decepticons, they want nothing but to destroy for the sake of destroying and for causing grief! We’re completely different!”

Kyla squeezed her eyes shut and tried to curl in on herself when he punched the wall, trying to shove down the sudden rage that started to bubble up. Kyla no if you badmouth him he will fucking kill you! she told herself. “No, you’re exactly the same, you just have a different way of wording it,” she said, her voice shaking.

“I-I don’t know,” Kyla said as she slid down the wall to a seated position. “The three I interact with most are all in Texas right now.” Chewing on her bottom lip, she looked back up at him. “Why do you want to watch me interact with them anyway?”

“Because from what I’ve gathered, they want to preserve the Earth and everything on it, including the humans and the Avengers. Which, haha, is a pr-et-ty big no-no for me at the moment.” He moved closer and knelt down on one knee, getting far too close for comfort. “So, I want to know why they want to preserve this sickness and chaos. For science.”

“Oh, of course not. That would be in bad taste and I wouldn’t get anywhere towards the place I want to be currently.” He paused to give her some time, then spoke up again. “Which happens to be watching you interact with the gear-heads. But, they aren’t here at current and you’re going to your sister’s. So, what are we going to do?” He fleshed out the last part slowly and with a menacing tone on his technological voice.

Kyla took a few steps back, eyes wide as she tried to find a way around him to get to her motorcycle. “My sister and I are twins, you really think I’d need to tell her anything?” she said, wincing at the tiny touch of sass in her voice before staring up at him as her back hit the wall of the parking garage. “…seen me with who?”

“You know exactly what I’m talking about. The duo-formed colossal gear-brains. You’ve been here before, I’ve seen you. You were with one of them, weren’t you?” His red lights pulsed again as he turned to fully face her, and then flared as he tilted his head very slightly to the side. The way his components moved would have been beautiful and hypnotising had he not been spattered with something that was certainly not rust.

“I told you, I grew up here, but...yes I was, you’re right,” she said, squeezing her eyes shut. “You’re not going to kill me right away are you?” she squeaked.

“How can I be sure you won’t tell her, or that you’re on your way to talk to an associate? I’ve been in this city long enough to figure out what’s also hiding n the streets.” He squinted. “And I think I’ve seen you with them.” He took a large step forward, his red accent lights pulsing dangerously brighter.

“Hm?” He would not have noticed that there was a small but not too small girl looking intently at him. He lazily turned to his right, to look at the other, and landed carefully onto the floor. He held himself upright with a calm but tense demeanour, shoulders pushed backwards and hands clenched.
“Oh. What are you doing out here so late? I hear this is a dangerous area. Wouldn’t want to get yourself…” He made a strange clicking sound as he searched or the right word. “..Injured. Hurt. You know what I mean, my point is why are you outside on your own?”

"I-I grew up here, so I’m used to it,” she explained. Definitely not any Cybertronian she was used to, and after the events of five years ago, you’d think she wouldn’t be this scared around robotic things anymore.

But there was something about this one that had her absolutely terrified.

“M-my motorcycle’s over there,” she said, pointing past him at a dark metallic blue Kawasaki Ninja 300 sitting about four parking spaces away. “I just need to get to it and I’ll be on my way to my sister’s house.”
