Stuff kids on tumblr better relearn

1. You are responsible for your own media experience.

2. There is such a thing as a healthy level of avoidance towards topics that make you feel unwell or even (in a real-life clinical definition of the term) trigger you - but you are the one to actively take care of what you view.

3. Avoiding does not mean policing others.

4. You have no right to tell artists to censor themselves - you may criticize what others do, you may dislike it, that’s fine - but actively asking for censorship when you could easily unfollow or block a person just makes you look incompetent in your use of the internet.

5. Do not give people on tumblr or /any/ website the responsibility for your emotional well-being. Because these people do not even know you so no, you have no right to ask them to take care of you.

6. Content creators are not your parents and owe you nothing, not even a breakdown on why their content isn’t problematic. You don’t get to demand a dissertation denouncing any and everything unhealthy in a piece you don’t like. Move on.

7. Tagging is a nicety but not an obligation. You can message people, politely, and ask them to tag things, and many people will, but understand that it’s their blog and they aren’t obliged to say yes. Unfollow and block when you need to. Circling back to number 1, you are responsible for curating your own experience.

8. Don’t be a jerk. Remember at the end of the day, there are actual living, breathing people behind each screen name. Don’t say anything you wouldn’t say to someone’s face in real life.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to remember this.

a few weeks back i looked up the source of “we deserve a soft epilogue, my love” because it’s such a lovely, evocative line and i wanted to know the name of the poet who wrote it and it was. from captain america fanfiction.

“in whatever manner it comes to be, love is never wrong, especially between one who has so much of it to give, and one so desperately in need of it” is from a naruto fanfic we’re living in a web of lies

I want to write E-rated fic with a transmasculine character but don’t know how: a resource by me, your local transmasculine fic writer

(alt. title: oh god I am sick of very authoritative how-to guides that somehow manage to be, at the same time, hyper-specific and very vague)

Ok! So: what this post isn’t:

  • A how-to guide for writing
  • A how-to guide for having sex with actual transmasculine people
  • A comprehensive list of every transmasculine experience or preference
  • A list of rules for what you’re “allowed” to write

What this is:

  • Basic information that you might want to be aware of if writing outside of your own experience

That’s it! I’ve divided this into a few subcategories for the sake of organization and readability, which are as follows:

  1. General notes
  2. Dysphoria
  3. Preferences
  4. A note on the fetishization of trans bodies
  5. Transitioning
  6. Language
  7. Final thoughts

Content warnings are as follows:

All sorts of language used to describe transmasc genitalia/chests; discussions of various kinds of sex; mentions of more controversial kinks like pregnancy/breeding kink; discussions of dysphoria; brief mentions of transphobia.

Uh… have fun?

The first kosmo I painted looks so different. Cute. But who knew I’d be passionate about Sheith when I painted these?

Anonymous asked:

Okay, so I loved your takes on Kurapika and Kuroro's characters and saw you meta/ed HisoIllu so I have to ask: what are your thoughts on KuroKura as a ship?? You reblogged it a bunch! (Thank you in advance, I love your blog

(ayy, thanks)! it goes without saying: kurokura are toxic like a long swing of hemlock, but man, am i weak for them.

*martyr morality. god’s a footnote here and so is logical behavior, apparently.

to keep things short, sweet and sadistic: they’re the worst kind of ideal. this isn’t because they foil one another, ‘cause they don’t. sure their moral maxims are all over the place, but when it boils down to it, kurapika and chrollo are almost carbon copies.
the crux of their development hinges on two traits: ‘til-death-do-us-part loyalty and unflinching brutality. kurapika’s willing to raze the world for the illusion of belonging, and chrollo’s happy to do the same for his spider’s stability. naturally, all this sexy talk of self-sacrifice and slaughter begs the question - what would happen if love/desire forced an overlap?
conflict of interest has never looked this damn good.
this ship’s interesting because we want to see these specific traits mirrored and poured into a dysfunctional relationship. we want to see that visceral, raw conflict rise - my people vs. my desire - given how all-or-nothing they both tend to be. it’s tough to imagine; they’re on opposite ends lacking middleground. there’s zero potential for mutual compromise, no meet-me-halfways.
in order for kurapika/chrollo to have any semblance of a relationship, one will have to forfeit their life’s mission/meaning. sounds intense, but think of it this way: kurapika’s not going to semi-forgive and chrollo can’t be three-quarters bad guy (no such thing as halfway crooks, haa). like their personalities, their relationship will be an all-or-nothing arrangement.
either kurapika’ll forgive chrollo for the, you know, premeditated slaughter & blackmarket commodification of his people, or chrollo will see the error of his ways and become a real priest for a change.
doesn’t sound plausible? it isn’t. people like them don’t change completely. you can’t shift the paradigm they exist in with ‘love’ or whatever ‘cause neither is inherently sentimental, just emotionally intense. a relationship like that isn’t easy to predict, it isn’t a matter of unidirectional compatibility (e.g. killugon, leopika, etc). this shit can go up, down, sideways and straight into the seventh dimension.
kurapika and chrollo are stacked with hypocrisy, and most of the time they’re not conscious of it. at the root of things, there’s constant conflict between “my-wants-are-meaningless” and “my-central-want-is-more-important-than-any-and-all-else.” that’s what makes this ship a challenge. it’s all newfound guilt and agenda rearrangement.
the game becomes how to play that contradiction (cough, loophole) in a way that works. so, how well can you spin their flaws to serve your story/setup? for this pair, no two people headcanon the same dynamic, and you gotta get creative to make things realistic.
but their intensity keeps things exciting. will kurapika find peace after burying the eyes? will chrollo learn his lesson after losing everything? will kuro/kura have a soft, empathetic end - all character development and loneliness - or will it be hatefucking sans kissing in the whale’s engine room?
frankly, it’s up to god & your imagination.
