Casey & Tim

Rant time: I am coming to the inescapable conclusion Season 13 must be some kind of re-booted/alternate Heartland universe where some things are the same, and others have been re-imagined for a new or different audience.

Some things I like. Some things, I do not.

Most notably, the absolutely, stunningly, shockingly ridiculous Tim and Casey break-up.

Tim and Casey aren’t a couple any longer because “reasons”.

And those “reasons” are stupid.

There. I said it. THE REASON CASEY AND TIM BROKE UP IS STUPID.

I’m just SO tired of all the relationship drama in this show. Georgie doesn’t know which boy she wants to be with (I guess that’s normal at her age) Lou and Peter divorced without even trying to fight for it. Now they have new partners but when they are together they still seem to me like potentially getting back together. And the writers of this show HAVE COMPLETELY RUINED Casey for me. I loved her character. Tim has had several unpleasant girlfriends over the years but Casey was perfect. Everybody in the Heartland family loved her and I believe most of the fans loved her. She made Tim not only tolerable but actually lovable. Because of her she became his best self and in this episode they just destroyed everything because Tim had been “too much for her to handle” Like what a hell? That is not the Casey I knew and loved. Same, girl, same… I almost would have preferred them not have Casey back if they were going to twist things like this. This episode made her seem either a liar, someone who wanted to dump Tim but chose to carry on the relationship because she was too afraid to break up with him when he had his health scare or someone who is scared to speak up about issues when she’s come across them. She’s never been any of those things and that’s why I’ve loved her always, well, until this episode. If she would have had a problem with Tim, she wouldn’t have waited till a proposal to bring that up.

It’s pretty unlikely to see a wild horse around here. Everything’s fenced. That’s why I’m not quite sure if I saw him or… Or if he was a ghost? I’ve seen this horse before, and the weird part is Ty was the only one who could ever get close to him, so when I saw him - Or didn’t see him… It just made me think of Ty.

I just wanted you and Lou to be proud of me. We are proud of you, but I thought this was supposed to be about Shane, not whether you’re a better person than his mom is. Once lawyers are involved, that’s exactly what it’s about. No, no, it shouldn’t be. You know, it should be about what Shane wants, period. No, you know, no matter how many elections you run in, or parades you ride in, it’s still going to be about his decision in the end. Life’s not that simple, Amy. Maybe it is.

HEARTLAND TIMELINE

If you have corrections or something to add, don’t hesitate to send me a message. To make things easier for everyone, I’d appreciate it if you could insert in which episode the information was revealed, so we all know which episode to use as a reference. Thank you!

What is it with you and this horse? Look, I just don’t think you wanna give him up. I’m just being realistic. He’s still got a long way to go before he’s ready for para-riding. Yeah, well, give the guy a break, okay? I needed a little time, too. But you didn’t give up on me.
