Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all! I hope it treated you all well, and that you had some fun! 

Whenever I decide to draw Chrysalis for Valentine’s Day, all I can think about was a moment, years ago, when I was explaining to my mom what I was drawing and what Changelings were, and then how she stopped to think for a second… And then said, “Oh, so they’re love bugs?” And I had to stop myself from screaming that I was SHAM because I had been working on FQC about 3~ years or so at that point and had never even thought about that idea for a second.

Now here’s something we haven’t seen in a while! Changelings! I got a cute commission from @ohmytgot​ again, this time of their Changeling OC’s! They’re having a lovely picnic with some bottled love, and some jewels they’ve mined up. What a pleasant afternoon~

HUZZAH, IT’S DONE!

My friend Pen commissioned me to make a cover for his most recent pony fic, and, hoo boy, I don’t think I’ve drawn so many characters in one picture before! It was really interesting and fun to try and do something like this. I actually really enjoy designing covers, usually for my own stuff, so it was nice getting commissioned to do the same for someone else! You can read Elixir Master here!

I’m almost done with the Mane 6 portraits! I’ve been looking forward to doing Fluttershy for a while since I really love drawing her hair. So long and swirly~ Last one should be happening soon! And then… I’ll really need to start busting my butt on these Inktobers, I’ve been avoiding doing anything overly complicated all month.

Hoooo boy, I can already tell the rest of these portraits are going to fight me the rest of the way!! I sketched Pinkie Pie after I finished this one and….. It’s not going very well.

Rainbow Dash came out pretty okay though! I think I really need to look into getting some ink markers though, I’m feeling the urge to color these more and more. Enjoy your daily dose of awesome, my dudes!

When it comes to pony things, I have a bad habit of starting with Twilight, then I draw AJ, and then…. I stop. 

SO THIS TIME! I decided to do them in reversed alphabetical order.  Rarity is actually my favorite pony! I’m a big fan of makeup, skincare, clothes, shopping… All that fun girly-girl stuff, so I connect with her on a lot of stuff when it comes to her character. She’s just really fun, guys!

Hurray! It’s my annual 1-2 pony portraits for Inktober!  I realized that I’ve never done Luna like this before, so what better time then the present? I’ll most likely be doing a lot of pony portraits this week since I’ve got a crazy week ahead of me full of road trips, rock ballads about dicks, ramen bars, and trying to kill my DnD players on Saturday with a train. (Also, hey, if you’re going to the NSP concert this week in NJ, hmu!!)

WHOO GOT MY COMMISSION FROM LAST MONTH DONE!!! It took way longer then usually does since… My office was (and still is) taken over by a fluffy orange and white cat that we’re trying to rehome. But, seriously, thank you to everyone who threw money at me last month to help out with the sudden vet bill. We were able to get a few weeks worth of groceries from that!

One of the people that commissioned me was one of my players! Again!! And I got to draw not only one of his PC’s, but two of them! Heart Song was originally with the party as their alchemist, and then left when she got sick of fighting nightmares… And then adopted her own flaming monstrosity and started to experiment with necromancy. Tair’so, the zebra rogue, was sent to talk her into joining the agency that the party had been invited into, and the talk…. Didn’t go very well at first! It was really fun getting the opportunity to draw more of the characters I’ve been running around for almost 2 years now. <3 I’d draw the whole party if I finally had the time!

This commission was ultra fun because this is actually one of my own players’ characters from my homebrew game! I’ve always wanted to do more artwork for my players then just illustrations of what the monsters they’re fighting look like, but it can be difficult to find the time and motivation. So, when one of my players commissioned me to draw their unicorn wizard Fairy Lily, I was super excited!! Fairy Lily is the researcher of the group, think Daniel from the Stargate series, and a fairly powerful magic user when she gets into battle. I decided to illustrate an event that happened to her before she met the group, which was her exploring a temple dedicated to Nightmare Moon that she managed to track down. Unfortunately, this particular adventure wasn’t very fun as the temple was full of traps and other mechanisms, and she wound up losing an ear trying to scramble out of a spear trap. But she did find a really cool, and rare sapphire that got her into contact with Princess Celestia of all people though, and now she has this crazy job alongside some other, equally as crazy people to protect Equestria from the things that go bump in the night. All’s well that ends well, right?

And the second of the two surprise presents!

This one was pretty unique since I had to completely change Sunset Shimmer’s species to a changeling and I’ve never done a species swap with any canon characters whatsoever. But I think I did an okay job in the end!

Thanks to some crazy ass magic, Sunset Shimmer has been turned into a changeling queen, and needs to learn the ropes. Through a combined effort of Princess Celestia and Queen Chrysalis, she’s making it through alright. This is also with an effort to save the failing changeling hive due to a lot of things happening all at once, so Celestia and Chrysalis are having to really try and work together as best as they can despite there being some communication issues. Sunset just wants her two mentors to get along, but… Well, we’ll just have to see!
