I am for an art that take its form from the lines of life itself, that twists and extends and accumulates and spits and drips, and is heavy and coarse and blunt and sweet and stupid as life itself.

I’m really enjoying the way the individual drawings interact with each other in each set…

perhaps we need to produce a book of all 100 drawings in the project (with each reproduced at actual size)

a collaborative suite of 100 drawings by 10 tumblr artists that brings together curation, collaboration and exhibition on tumblr and explores the range of processes, aesthetics and possibilities of drawing given a minimal set of guidelines. Using tumblr as the the means of exhibition for these works the project will be shared over 10 sequential days as a series of 10 image photo posts, featuring one drawing from each participant each day. Each day the post will originate from a new participating artist. – The project begins on May 19th and features works by: Ryan Tippery // Jacob VanLoon  // Fatma Al-Remaihi // Tassia Bianchini // Robert Malte Engelsmann // Matt Niebuhr // Michael Canich // Andi Baumgartner // Christian Villacillo // Kevin Townsend

a collaborative suite of 100 drawings made by 10 tumblr artists 10 BY 10 is my first attempt at bringing together curation, collaboration and exhibition on tumblr. the premise is simple— to explore the range of processes, aesthetics and possibilities of drawing given a minimal set of guidelines. 10 artists will each make a series of 10 drawings each drawing is made within a 10cm x 10cm square each drawing is centered on a 10′’ x 10′’ sheet of paper the resulting drawings will be shared as 10 image photo sets via tumblr,  over the course of 10 sequential days beginning on 5.19.15 each daily post will feature one image from each of the participating artists:
