Annabelle’s cheeks couldn’t help but turn a bit pink. “I told them they didn’t have to go to the trouble of having us come over. You two are supposed to be retired!” she argued. “Oh nonsense, she couldn’t stop cooking even if she tried.” The woman came back in and places several plates of food on the table, all of Thomas’ favorite foods. “Dig in!
