A Warning & Clarification
There are two prominent personalities whose names you may frequently see floating around on Muslim Tumblr. These individuals are:
- Ahmad Musā Jibrīl
- Abdul Aziz at-Tarafī
Both these ‘preachers’ to Islām are highly suspect, have committed crimes/actions that are against the correct Islāmic beliefs, and often call to extreme views that have been brought to attention by both the authentic respected scholars of Islām as well as Western investigative journalism.
The first, Ahmad Musā Jibrīl from the Detroit Michigan area, has previously spent six and half years in federal prison with a 20-count indictment for bank fraud, conspiracy, money laundering and using false Social Security cards as well as investigation for links to terrorism. Ahmad Musā Jibrīl and his father, Musā Abdullāh Jibrīl, were convicted of “buying 13 homes and two apartment buildings in Metro Detroit and insuring them for much more than they were worth. The pair were accused of defrauding six banks of more than $250,000.” [source]. In addition, Ahmad Musā Jibrīl is well known to incite the youth towards groups such as ISIS and other forms of terrorism [source].
The second individual, Abdul Aziz at-Tarafī, is currently under arrest in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for hateful preaching, and calling the rulers of the nation apostates [source]. A heavy accusation that no Muslim would want upon themselves, let alone hear from the pulpit.
Abū Dharr (رضي الله عنه) said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) saying, “If somebody accuses another of disbelief or calls him the enemy of Allah, such an accusation will revert to him (the accuser) if the accused is innocent.”
[Sahīh Bukhārī & Sahīh Muslim, Riyadh as-Saliheen, Chapter 326, Hadith no. 1733].
Please be wary of feel good quotes by the aforementioned individuals, kindly refrain from reblogging them, and advise those who reblog/share their works. May Allāh guide us all and enable us to implement the truth to the best of our ability, Ameen. I appreciate your taking the time to read this post, BārakAllāhu feekum.
