i sewed a dress!!! this is by far my favourite thing i've ever made, i'm so proud of myself for actually finishing this. especially as, in the final few seconds of victory and elation, i realised i'd sewn one of the sleeves on inside out and also somehow sewn the armhole closed so I couldn't put it on?? and i couldn't find my seam ripper and was absolutely raging, but then found it in an unexpected location and spent the next 1.5 hours unpicking and resewing and NOW IT'S DONE!

Some mushroom socks!🍄🧦My best friend sent me a Finnish knitting pattern she found on pinterest which I google translated. The things I do for people 💖

I blocked my knitting for the first time which was interesting, I might actually do that from now on.

[Image description: a pair of knitted mushroom patterned knee length socks. They have green cuffs, 5 rows of different shaped mushrooms in different colour combinations of brown, light beige and yellow, 2 rows of green leaves between the mushrooms and 4 rows of green leaves on top of the feet. The background colour of the socks is charcoal grey. The first image has the socks layed flat and the second image has the socks on feet. End ID]

Patchwork dressing gown c.1825

The dressing gown featured here is an extraordinary piece of hand work. The use of many different lively roller print patterns gives it an eye popping appeal and makes this piece a sampler of the various patterning from this period. Roller printing was introduced and then patented in 1783 in an attempt to reduce the cost of copperplate printing as well as to ease the printing process of small, repeat patterns.

finished knitting my jumper!!! it's so cosy!!!! i highly recommend this pattern, i adjusted it to knit it on bigger needles with thicker yarn and it knit up so quickly, it was probably the most fun i've had knitting a project ever.

styling it with a bit of Harry Hill chic with the white collared shirt underneath 🔥

pattern: oh honey honey sweater by lily lake knits

yarn: rowan big wool in colourway biscotti

literally (a few minutes ago) just finished this quilted tapestry that reads, “seething with rage. nowhere to put it but here.” it measures roughly 24” x 56”. I think I’m going to call her, “this one’s for me.”

this was a cathartic exhausting sewing journey that i undertook specifically for myself with the thought of art as emotional labor and personal fulfillment - I would do this again in a heartbeat!! i am probably going to add a few more details to the front but i was too eager to post this lol so more to come :)
