Meeting the Knight of the Sun again

But you do little to avoid such threats when with company. She thought, looking at Solaire, though her helmet hid all possible clues to what she was thinking.

She listened to his introduction - no need to stand straighter than she was already in this armour - and nodded slowly at the title’s he gave. Her land was not one for them, they prefered simplicity in that sense, but she knew certain Nations preferred them.

With a short, militaristic bow of her head, she spoke. “Lord Serena Raven, XIII, Commander of the Raven’s Knights.” She introduced herself before pausing, momentarily wondering to add something to that, but deciding not to.

“As I just recanted- I have no choice in the matter. There is no safe area save for firelink- and it is surrounded on three sides by the graves, hollows, and new Londo.” Solaire had a feeling this was going to going to be a tiresome chat. “But beyond that- what is your relationship to lady Iris? Sisters mayhap?”

"Solaire!" Vesgar excitedly calls, as he sees the warrior by the altar, as usual. Looking at the knight, Vesgar nods apologetically. "Sorry if i am interrupting anything, but there is something you HAVE to see, right now."

The knight turns and raises an eyebrow. “Not at all, just meditating-” he starts up a brisk jog. “So, what’s this thing I have to see?”

Vesgar put on the outfit, adjusting the scarf a few times, before getting it in the position he wanted it. Both end tied around his neck snugly, whilst they came to an end and hung off his back. Adjusting the pendent that hung from his neck, he walked to the door and opened it, only to see that the door was in a completely different spot in the house.

He walked quickly down the hall, hoping to find his friend, before abruptly stopped and sliding off his feet as he saw an ominous stuffed drake. He was so startled, he let out what could only be described as a banshee shriek, before getting up and went absolutely blazing down the hall, in the opposite direction. He just hoped he could find the Sunlight warrior.

The halls seemed to shift and turn more often once Solaire started his search- in ways that seemed architecturally impossible. He wondered for a moment if this was what madness felt like- but he quickly quashed the thought with maximum prejudice. He opened a door at the end of a hall- and his jaw dropped.

He had walked into a workshop, tools lined the walls, and from the ceiling the skeleton of a vast drake hung- wings outstretched in flight. Numerous bookshelves filled with tomes also lined the walls of the place. Noticing an open book on the workbench, Solaire went to inspect it. Only finding one line written… Gone. All gone. Where have they gone? I miss them, I miss them so…

Slightly disconcerted, Solaire left the room, and resumed searching for Vesgar, hoping he was ok.

Magic Anon: For one thread, as per your rules, Sully is drunk for one night. Hope you enjoy!

There’s the normal sensation of impending doom that gray magic always causes in him and he squares his shoulders as if he’s bracing for some kind of impact when.. his posture suddenly slumps a great deal and he sways slightly, eyes dimming a smidgen.

“This.. is bad? Yes. Bad,” he grunts, nearly dropping his staff.

((Aw hell, just as I opened a bottle of wine, too. WELP SHIT IS GETTING REAL

As always, reply to this post or tag me in a new post with this M!A mentioned. This does not effect other threads; it is AU.

lol))

Sitting down is less done purposefully and is more like the knight had tossed a sack of potatoes at the ground there. The djinn goes half-limp as he ungracefully flops down. He’d dropped his staff in the uncoordinated movement and doesn’t seem to be too concerned about it, instead going horizontal to curl up on his side, facing the bonfire.

“M'jus gonna stay right here,” he mumbles, wiggling a little in place and suddenly very interested in watching the light dancing before him. A thickly-fingered hand reaches out to poke at the bonfire, and a noise escapes him. When he does it again, it’s a giggle. At least he’s amused himself for the moment.

Solaire stares for at least five seconds. He didn’t think the Djinn physically capable of such a noise- or even saying something like ‘M’jus’. It was almost off putting. He was just glad that the bonfire couldn’t burn Suleiman.

He took a seat a foot or two away, and simply sat, content with monitoring the Djinn. He mused on the fact that he was treating the centuries old sage like a giant wooden child.

Solaire loves music, and used to be able to play an instrument... but has long since forgotten how. He regrets that he forgot.

Vesgar almost immediately took interest in the outfit, looking at it, beside Solaire. In a way, it reminded him of Carim. Although Carim Nobles wore something far more flashy. Looking over the note, he gave a low “hmm.” It seemed quite old, like no one had touched it before.

“Some outfit, huh? I doubt who ever lived here ever planned on wearing it, if they ever did. Doesn’t matter now, i suppose.” Looking to Solaire, he gave a smile, before looking to the clothes. “You know, i’ve been interested in new armor. While this might not be official armor in that sense, i could definitely put it to use.”

Whoever lived here had obviously not been in this room in quite some time.  Either they had died, or left the mansion. Although why would they do that, especially after going through the troubles of keeping the house hidden, in an almost impossible way as well.

Vesgar looked to Solaire, before tilting his head slightly. “Ah, could you give me the room for a second to change?”

Solaire exited the room as requested, and waited for Vesgar to exit.

And waited.

And waited.

Fearing something had snatched him, Solaire opened the door- finding nothing but a simple closet. He frowned, and turned back around- coming face to face with the stuffed drake again. Solaire roared in frustration, drew his blade, and severed the stuffed drake’s head from it’s neck.

“Vesgar!” Solaire called. “Can you hear my voice?!”

She made sure the creature was dead, as she shoved her sword into the face of the drake, before pulling it out and following Solaire, running with surprising grace until they got into the elevator room, to which she stood the opposite side of him, and began to supress the cold aura.

We can, if that is what you want.” She replied. “Originally I had no intention of meeting you, however, it seems the land’s danger has a knack for following you.”

Solaire gave the ghost knight a flat look. “I am not sure how much you can see from Iris’s eyes, but it is not so much that the dangers follow me that the dangers of this land are ever-present save for firelink. And even then that isn’t a guarantee.” He clears his throat and stands a bit straighter.

“That aside, I believe introductions are still in order.” He dips into a bow. “I am Solaire, knight of the sun, braver of Lordran, and bearer of Lord Gwyn’s light.” This was not intended as a boast- such introductions were more common in Astora. “And you are?”

“I have not seen it in person, but others have spoken of it,” he answers after a moment’s thought, remembering the tales of other Undead he’s spoken to. There were may such stories of a great myriad of horrible creatures that called these lands their home. If one wasn’t careful, all that information could slur together and become nothing more than a source of confusion and danger without remembering to keep those facts straight in your mind. With a bit humor he adds, “Though flame breath concerns me little.”

He hadn’t been in that area himself yet, but he at least had an idea of the lay of the land there from those same stories. “I have yet to travel there, I would always be.. understandably wary, no matter where I went in this place, knowing of the dangers therein beforehand or no. I may take you up on your offer in the future.”

Solaire nods, and goes back to staring up at the sky as the clouds slowly drifted. It seemed odd, he thought that a lazy afternoon with a friend couldn’t happen in Lordran.

But here they were.
