Hey Everyone!

Here’s a Preview of my next project: I’m writing and directing an animated movie in development at Sony Pictures Animation. It’s a sci-fi/comedy/road movie that’s based on my own crazy/delightful family! I probably can’t say anything more than that, but if it’s greenlit, it should be popping up in movie theaters soonish. It’s a crazy opportunity and i’m working like a maniac to make sure that I make the best of it!

We’re trying really hard to make a different kind of animated movie that’s new and fresh and hilarious and crazy and great!

I’m working with tons of talented people on it! Jeff Rowe! (My Amazing Co-Writer!) Lindsey Olivares! Ryan Lang! Ian Worrel! (The Amazing Art Team!) Guillermo Martinez! Myke Bakich! Raymond Xu! Hanna Cho! Andrew Ross! (The Amazing Story Team!) I have a super great team and super great support from the studio. So, it should be like... super great right?

So anyway, get HYPE.

So guys, guys, guys, I made a thing. It’s a 15 minute short cartoon called Michael and Aldene about a slovenly teenager trying to get his grandma into heaven. I made it into an animatic and want to try to get it into festivals. Unfortunately, it’s only an animatic right now and I need that sweet CA$$$H money to actually make it move and have color and stuff. I hope to finish it one day. So why am I posting about it now? Who knows? I just want people to know I’m still alive! Plus I recently got a secret job and am working on secret but very exciting projects! Which unfortunately translates to this continuing to be a ghost town! Hah!

The insanely talented Alonso Ramirez Ramos drew this and the great Jeffrey M. Thompson painted it! They’re both amazing! Look em up! When will I post my own artwork? NEVER! AHAHAHAHA!!!!

This is the poster for a movie I'm making.  It's the R Rated, Coming of Age, Animated feature that no one ever asked for, but I am obsessively making anyway.

For those of you who follow me because of Gravity Falls (all of you) I left the show in March to work on this. I still consult and keep in contact with everyone. I had an amazing experience at Gravity Falls, learned an insane amount, and worked with some of the best artists I've ever met in my life. I was sad to leave, but, hey, we're all gonna die someday, and I want to try to make this and other things before I do.

(Also Side Note: I didn't make this poster. HA! It was all my super talented friends. Alonso Ramirez Ramos drew it, Josh Parpan colored the top one, Kris Anka colored the bottom one, and Marina Gardner and Katie Mitroff did some of the designs. Look em up! They're all cartoon geniuses.)

The show I've been working on for the past year and a half, Gravity Falls, is finally out. I like the characters, it's funny, and it has beautiful art. C'mon! It's free on iTunes, watch that shit!

(Since we don't have a show tumblr or anything. I posted some of the awesome storyboard panels that didn't make it into the final show. The animation studio did a great job putting everything "on model" but these drawings are too good to never be seen by anyone. Storyboards by Matt Braly (1,2,5), Alonso Ramirez Ramos (3,4,7), and Niki Yang (6). Paintings by Ian Worrel with character art by Joe Pitt and Alonso Ramirez Ramos. Character designs by Joe Pitt and Phil Rynda.)

I'm gonna make a movie soon. Probably not a great idea, but hey, we're all gonna die some day.

Marina drew these. I'd like it if the characters looked like this. I tried to give her chinese food for the drawings but she refused.
