Let us suppose that the "average" horse would have equal proportions of all these parts. The degree to which each part in this poll deviates from the "average" size (20% of total) will determine how large or small that part of our horse will be (i.e a horse with only 10% in Legs will have legs half the size of the average horse).

I will draw a picture of the horse we make!

Thank you for your patience, tumblr. I have been at work all day but now I am home and ready to build this horse you asked for.

First, let's pull up the poll results alongside an average looking horse. I have calculated the size of each part of our horse in relation to Average Size.

Next we will adjust our horse's components according to the specifications.

Finally, let us properly assemble these parts and see how it looks.

And there you have it. Great work team. No notes.

disabled people who are lifelong, permanent dependents, i love you. you are my friends and my lovers and my siblings and you are me and i am you and i love you.

i'm really despondent sometimes over the ways society sees us. how conservatives see us as burdens and drains on society, yes, and also how liberals mock our lives, how the idea of being an adult dependent is seen solely as the result of poor life choices, how everyone all across the political spectrum sees things like "getting an allowance from your spouse" and "relying on one person for housing" as cause for mockery, jokes to make, nothing but a conceptual stick with which to beat people into performing well in work and school. still others see us as childish, as pitiable, perhaps not as worthy of mockery but definitely not as worthy of being treated as a social equal, never someone you could invite into your social spheres and make an effort to include--they're just not independent, no offense to them, it just makes them so childish, i can't have an adult friendship with them.

but we persist anyway. we're here. i'm lucky to love the people i'm dependent on, i'm lucky that they respect me as a person and would never leverage their power over me, i'm lucky that they're willing to constantly self-check to make sure they're not accidentally using that power. i hope to g-d you're lucky in the same ways, because i love you. and if you're not, i love you. i'm holding your hand and i'm standing with you and i'm going to try to make a better world for both of us.

I am once again thinking about digging holes

It's so fucked up that digging a bunch of holes works so well at reversing desertification

I hate that so much discourse into fighting climate change is talking about bioenginerring a special kind of seaweed that removes microplastics or whatever other venture-capital-viable startup idea when we have known for forever about shit like digging crescent shaped holes to catch rainwater and turning barren land hospitable

Also, on the topic of AGAB.

AGAB is intended to be a verb in the past tense. "Assigned" is a verb (action), "at birth" is a time period (past-tense). It is something that was done to you, not something you currently are.*

I am not, currently, "assigned female at birth". I was assigned female at birth. I am currently a man. I am no longer AFAB. That was something that was done to me in the past, against my will. It is not part of who I am, and it says absolutely nothing about me.

And I sure as hell am not "an AFAB". If you use someone's assigned gender as a noun**, that is no different than just calling someone "a male" or "a female" directly. Yes this includes calling someone a "theyfab". It makes you a transphobe and bioessentialist, full stop.

*If you want to consider yourself, personally, as still currently being "assigned [gender] at birth", that's your prerogative. That's a personal choice. We personally distinguish identifying as your assigned gender as different from using AGAB terms as an identity label, but that's a semantic thing and I don't really care how you choose to label yourself. The "you" here is a general you.

**Obviously we know not everyone's first language is english and that acronyms can be very confusing in their usage. The point of this post is not to be the grammar police. The point is to make the case that we should not be using AGAB terms to label and categorize people. AGAB terms were intended to be a shorthand way to explain whatever gender was assigned to you when you were born. To use them to categorize people in the present is ironically repeating the process of arbitrarily assigning someone a label against their will.
