𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐖𝐒 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒. he is aware the shape he had taken seems appealing, even then, if one looks closer, they could see the real nature, eyes return to a natural color and even then, the shade of green seems all too bright for a human. he nods and smiles, her recognition of his voice expected as hands leave the hardness of the tree, eyes shifting to stare in admiration at the fruit that hangs above them and then, to the garden. beautiful, untouched yet by humanity’s mistakes, ones he knows will happen.
lucifer steps closer, if only one step closer. “why would I be unkind to you? you are a kind soul, eve. so much potential.” he can see it, as he saw it in lilith, different shapes but similar, perhaps, god made them that way, but lilith now stands almost forgotten by adam, this? it’s both a gift and a curse. giving eve the opportunity to reach a full potential, that God doesn’t want them to, and, disobeying his word, would be his greatest act to show he had been right all along. “I am. I rise with every morning, as I bring the sun, the light.” he speaks, head turning to the bright star that shines around them, perhaps, even brighter now that he walks the garden.
“my name is lucifer.“ he offers his name as a token, another way of trust that perhaps, shows that he does care, that her words and trust matter to him. “most of my siblings stay out of the garden, for it’s for you and adam to enjoy but…how can I? so many…amazing things.“ and his words are sharp as eyes fix on her as he finishing speaking. and then, he looks down for a moment, hands pointing toward his body. “this is just a shape…a vessel. my true form cannot be witness for the untrained eye.“
his words make her smile widen in return and eve takes that compliment and stores it safely in her heart. adoring words such as those rarely left adams mouth; and why would they? eve was made only for him, anything about her that was good or pleasing was expected of her and not extraordinary at all.
as the angel tells her of his true nature, she lifts her head and gazes at the sun. it’s so bright, so beautiful and so very blinding. eve looks back at him and now feels as though he emits the same luminosity, the same warmth perhaps. and she needs no convincing that this man was good, because how could someone who brought so much light be anything other than that?
lucifer. he gives her his name and joy washes over her. the angels didn’t usually speak to them and so she wonders even in that moment why he was even gracing her with his presence and giving her something as valuable as his name.
at his statement about the garden she nods in agreement but it is when his gaze lands on her that she can feel the blood rushing to her cheeks. eve cannot name the feeling she’s experiencing at that moment but she knows that it’s pleasant and adam never makes her feel that way. “ i understand”, she assures him and tucks a strand of hair behind her ears nervously. eve had never spoken to a being of such divine descent for so long and naturaly she’s cautious of her words so as to not say anything that might possibly displease him. “ i mustn’t see it to know. i can feel that you are special. ---- it’s like you are the sun.”

the words sting and eve makes no attempt to hide that. the edenborn woman is not sure if her predecessor is speaking of the garden that they both once inhabited and the invisible chains to man that came with it, or of any relationship they might once have had. in any case the words are not kind. “ ---- you are. “ she agrees and moves her gaze away, finding it unexpectedly difficult to look at the woman who had always posessed so much more autonomy and power than eve did. “ and yet here we both are. after millenia both still roaming the earth; and i feel just as helpless as i did in paradise.”

eve’s eyes light up as she hears a man speak her name. a man, or perhaps merely a vessel she has not laid eyes on before. she does however recognize that voice and a sort of childlike wonder spreads across her features. the woman realises that it’s the same as that of the enchantingly beautiful serpent. with fascination taking over her mind, pushing aside any reason, she smiles as he steps closer, the edenborn woman utterly entranced by this new being. a man with the voice of a serpent. ( i trust you , eve. ) words that would surely seal her fate for they sound so pure and true. “ you are the serpent.” she states, albeit a bit hesistantly for she doesn’t know his name. eve has never questioned the fact that he hadn’t offered it and a frown spreads across delicate features at his explanation for this. why would she tell the lord? she had never been lied to before, had never experienced beytrayal in the short span of her existence and so the naivety in her voice, on her face is true. " you’ve been nothing but kind to me.” she assures him with lips stretching into an even wider smile. and how would she know that the serpent is not all love and light as the rest of eden? she was in paradise, after all. there was no need for suspicion, no use for second guessing because everything was perfect and absolute in the garden.
his eyes then, they make hers widen in return ---- they are what truly bewitch her, so ethereal, so inhumane, they make him even more appealing. she feels herself enchanted by his mere presence because it’s not just the human shape that draws her in, it’s something much more deep, something she feels not on the physical plane of existence but in her soul.
“ you’re an angel, aren’t you? you must be, you’re so beautiful.”
