Buffy was a really important show for me growing up, and I adored Firefly.

I’ve known for a while now that Joss is a pretender - the first inkling I had was the way he treated Charisma Carpenter during her run on his shows. But reading details about his abhorrent behavior and (ab)use of power is still an eye opener and a disappointment. I admire Kai Cole for speaking out, even though he still threatens to gaslight her at the end of this article. What a fucking bastard.

Buffy is my all-time favorite show, and i think it’s important to remember that a LOT of people were responsible in making this show (and a lot of his other shows) great. He might have had the idea but it wasn’t his work along that made Buffy, Angel, etc. what it was.

“When I was running ‘Buffy,’ I was surrounded by beautiful, needy, aggressive young women. It felt like I had a disease, like something from a Greek myth. Suddenly I am a powerful producer and the world is laid out at my feet and I can’t touch it.” But he did touch it. He said he understood, “I would have to lie — or conceal some part of the truth — for the rest of my life,” but he did it anyway, hoping that first affair, “would be ENOUGH, that THEN we could move on and outlast it.” This is so gross and disappointing. What a creepy statement to make about the actresses on his shows

I’m trying to figure out why the press release about Thirteen includes quotes from Whittaker, Chibnall, Capaldi, other DW producers, BBC Drama Controller, but doesn’t have a quote from Moffat congratulating her? And all over twitter you’ve got former doctors and companions congratulating her.

Has Moffat said anything about her yet?

I also have to be grateful for all she gave us while she was here.

Its like the 80’s all over again, a remorseless madwoman runs the UK, a maniacal bastard runs the US, the world’s on the brink of nuclear war and all I want to do is listen to synthpop

John Green is a living refutation to the law of conservation of meaning. It is astounding. This man takes words which, by themselves, have meanings– perfectly good meanings, words which impart concepts or ideas which, when spoken to an English speaker, make understandable sense– and he manages, somehow, I have no idea how he does it, to arrange them in such a way that although they are grammatically correct, they mean absolutely nothing at all. Let me show you what I mean.

Read this sentence from the first page of his novel “The Fault in our Stars”:

Depression is a side effect of dying. Cancer is also a side effect of dying. Almost everything is, really.

What does any of this mean? The surrounding sentences gave little to no oh my god I really cant do this.

i was going to keep going and being honestly analytical but i couldnt possibly say anything to make you understand what i mean more than the sentence ‘cancer is also a side effect of dying’ on its own. just read that. just read those words, in that order, over and over. i cant take my eyes off it. fuck, look at it. look at this fucking sentence. this is an eldritch sentence. it’s like being in one of those rooms where all the walls are mirrors and seeing yourself reflected over and over infinitely. there’s not even an abyss of meaninglessness to gaze into because that would imply depth.
