You know, that Mythbusters post legitimately changed my life. Before seeing it, I had exponentially more guilt and stress about not being able to sleep, which of course, further exacerbated my inability to sleep.

Now, every time I wake up about three am, knowing I have to get up at 6.45, instead of stressing and panicking about how my day is going to be sleep deprived and miserable, I just tell myself 'Time to activate Mythbusters Protocol' and lie there with my eyes closed safe in the knowledge that I am measurably reducing later feelings of exhaustion.

And when this happens, about 70% of the time the reduction of guilt and stress means I actually do fall back asleep, so all in all instead of getting only three or four hours sleep, I get five to six and a half.

Which y'know, major improvement in health and energy.

this is what i was just posting about, and it's not just that he was denied entry: he was meant to speak at the Palästina Kongress, a congress that was supposed to be held this weekend in Berlin. they not only denied him entry into Germany at Berlin airport, but also informed him that he would not be allowed to join the congress via zoom or even send a recording of his lecture.

at the same time, German police stormed the stage at the congress and eventually shut it down completely. according to the organizers, there were about 2,500 cops present (for an event with 250 attendees). several people have been arrested, including a guy who did nothing other than hold a sign saying "Jews against genocide".

the organizers have called for international solidarity in the form of protests in front of German embassies and institutions on Sunday, April 14th:

Modern copper cookware is (generally) lined with non-reactive metals. Copper is extremely common in cookware bc of its awesome thermal conductivity; it's very common in high-end pans. Chefs will use it for especially temperature-sensitive items, like sautéing fragile greens or (for random example) making extremely fussy coffee.

With regards to the "Ingesting Copper is bad for people."

Yes, Copper is a heavy metal. Yes, ingesting high concentrations of any heavy metal is bad.

However. Copper is one of the ones that's easiest to stop leaching everywhere. Its why they replaced tri-butyl tin with copper sulfides for anti-foulant paints on ships: shellfish don't tend to grow on toxic substrates. Copper sulfides don't leach into the water at anywhere NEAR the same rate as TBTs.

Furthermore it's what's known as a micronutrient. As in, if you don't get a miniscule amount in your diet it's going to cause problems. There are a couple of heavy metals like that. Zinc is another. It's why they get added in minute concentrations to some animal feeds.
