You felt your heart lip to your throat as you opened the door and your eyes immediately locked with his green ones.

Your hand insictively went to your swollen belly and you were quick to notice how the smirk vanished from his face to soon be replaced by an awe-filled look. One of disbelief, yes for sure, but you could still see a small hint of smile there. Not just a nostalgic one, because it had been just six months till you last saw him.

“Hey” he breathed out, his voice even more hoarse than you remembered it.

“Hey” your voice was just as hoarse.

“Been a while huh?” he swallowed thickly, his eyes roaming not only your face but figure as well. You could see how they lingered over your enlarged belly.

“Yeah. Yeah it has” you felt your throat close as you took in the look on his eyes.

“So… anything new?” he asked forcing a smile on his lips.

“Quiet a lot” you breathed out shakily.

“Yeah I see” he laughed breathlessly, and it soon died out.

His eyes would not stop moving and even if he did not say a single thing you knew how his mind was spinning. A thousand thoughts running through it. And even more questions. But you knew what was the most important one and what he could not stop thinking about. Despite the initial shock you knew that one question would not stop running through his mind. One question that had been eating him on the inside.

Was the kid his?

“Wanna come in?” you smiled faintly at him.

He swallowed, his eyes locking with yours immediately “Sure”
