i have a specific finchel 1x1 plot in mind that i want to play out, if anyone would like to take me up on it. so it’s set about two years after the s6 flashforward, everything is canon, even finn’s death. rachel’s happily married to jesse, and she goes on a little spa break on her own to some small town somewhere. she’s wandering around some store or just walking down a street when she sees finn. it’s actually him, and not just another figment of her imagination like it has been before. it turns out he’s been in witness protection all this time, living a whole new life with a fake name and some fake backstory.

i just think it could be the most angsty thing ever like she’s furious at first, but she calms down when she realises he had no other choice. he’s heartbroken when he realises that she’s married and to jesse of all people. maybe they sleep together and she’s got to deal with all of the guilt of cheating, and she has to decide what to do next. there’s so many possibilities!

man i hate being one of those roleplayers who can’t just…. easily discard and pick up plots and characters. i have plots/dynamics that have been inactive for YEARS and will very likely never get picked up again that i still think about and miss. when i genuinely love a plot/pairing it’s forever you could come to me in 10 years asking if i’d still like to write them and i’d say yes. and i hate it sm makes me feel like an idiot.

ok so give me a plot where she’s 100% willing to use her sex appeal to get ahead. she knows most men will fall at her feet if she bats her eyelids so she uses it to get shit done and move ahead in her chosen field. she’s genuinely smart and talented, but she’s also terribly pragmatic and willing to exploit men’s tendency to let beauty sway them. she’s rather merciless in getting her way, but she has one major rule – she will NOT be the mistress. she may manipulate and sweet-talk a married man, but she respects the sanction of marriage and won’t let it go any further than that. 

so then she meets this guy who will be perfect to advance her career, and he says he can help her out in exchange for a date. she says sure, but makes sure he knows her one rule. (bonus points if the guy is like ridiculously enamored with her) so they start this relationship and it seems like everything’s going great – she’s getting what she wants, and they’re having fun together, and soon, it’s less like a business transaction and more like an actual relationship, and she’s even falling for him.

and then, naturally, she finds out he has a spouse he never mentioned.

  • notting hill - muse a is a big time celebrity, and muse b owns a little bookshop. their worlds collide when muse a walks into their work
  • about time - muse a has the ability to travel back in time, in their own lifetime. they decide to use their ability to find true love, which is when they find muse b
  • me before you - muse a was in a terrible accident which left them in a wheelchair and unable to care for themselves. muse b is hired at their career, despite muse a’s wishes
  • life as we know it - muse a and muse b are polar opposites, and after one bad date years ago, are near enough sworn enemies. however when their best friends die, and name them as joint guardians of their daughter, they have to put aside their differences
  • the holiday - following a messy break up, muse a takes themselves on a spontaneous holiday, and swaps houses with a complete stranger for a month. on the first night, muse b, whose sibling owns the house, turns up drunk. the two spend the entire holiday together and muse a has to decide whether they want to go home at the end of it all
  • the notebook - muse a and muse b come from completely different backgrounds. muse a is pristine, and their parents are well to do, and want the best for their child. muse b is a little rough around the edges, and according to muse a, not good enough for the country club. their teenage whirlwind romance is cut short, and they go their separate ways. years later, they find each other again just as muse a is engaged to someone else
  • dirty dancing - muse a is young, naive and shy. muse b is a charming dance instructor. muse a asks muse b to teach them how to dance, and somehow along the way, boundaries are lost
  • pretty woman - muse a is a successful business person, and muse b is a prostitute. muse a hires muse b for the week to attend events with them, and pretend to be their date
  • you’ve got mail - muse a has a small independent business, and muse b is the ceo of the big corporate chain thats threatening to make muse a’s business obsolete. the two of them can’t stand each other, but what they don’t know is that they’ve been speaking to each other anonymously on a chat room for months, and are actually falling for each other
  • one day - muse a and muse b sleep together once at college/university, but decide that they’re better off as friends. throughout the years they have plenty of opportunities to make it right. bonus points if the 1x1 is set throughout the years, and only shows where they are on the same day each year
  • like crazy - muse a, an american, falls in love with muse b, a british exchange student. things get complicated when muse b is banned from the u.s after overstaying their student visa
  • a star is born - muse a is a hardened alcoholic musician who mentors muse b, a rising star
  • carol - muse a, a wealthy socialite in a loveless marriage, meets muse b, a reserved store clerk during the christmas period. muse b is instantly infatuated, and when they realise that muse a has left behind their gloves, decides to return it to their owner
  • eternal sunshine of the spotless mind - muse a and muse b were in love once, but things turned sour. muse a decides to try an experiment which will make them forget muse b forever
  • four weddings and a funeral - muse a and muse b always bump into each other at weddings, but each time they meet, their timing is off, and one of them is in a relationship. one day, muse a gets invited to muse b’s wedding
  • when harry met sally - when muse a and muse b meet, they decide from the get-go that a relationship is off the cards, and they’ll only ever be just friends
  • the proposal - muse a is muse b’s assistant, who hates their job and their overbearing boss. but when muse b is threatened with deportation, muse b convinces muse a to pretend to be engaged, so that they can stay where they are
