#ComeBlockHome Info Post

This post contains links and may be punished as such by Tumblr’s algorithm. If you wish to spread the word please reblog this and then get organizing to help get this project off the ground!

The growing #ComeBlockHome and its twin hashtag, #MC2012Reunion is gaining traction among fans, so what exactly is it about?

If you’ve been a fan of Minecraft Youtube (MCYT) for some time, you may be familiar with various creators that have been labeled with the fan-name of UnderYogs. These are people who were either associated with, or parallel to the Yogscast but not in the spotlight. Many of these people have moved on with their lives, doing their own thing after a decade. In the fanbase there has been a push as of late to get some of these creators back together for a Minecraft SMP.

A big push was when noted underyog Lyinginbedmon made a tweet, tagging several of the others [link to tweet]. This caused a huge stir in the fan community, and at least three of the creators showed an interest in participation. Lying tweeted again not long after [link to tweet], and the fan community responded with excitement again.

A lot of the reblogs of the various related posts have hashtags expressing similar sentiments of wanting this to happen. And you know what? It absolutely can happen.

The catch here is that the Fans need to be the ones to spearhead it.

The concept came up again during Strife’s stream, and he went into detail about what fans can do to get this moving. Thanks to a dedicated fan, the relevant clips from that stream can be seen here [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

For those whom need text, here’s what you can do:

1. LET THEM KNOW If these creators don’t know you want them to do something together, they never will. You have to get out there and tell them that you love their content and want to see them in an SMP event. If this can be done EN MASSE, with as much of the fanbase as possible, chances of this happening increase. 2. USE HASHTAGS This is where the #ComeBlockHome and #MC2012Reunion tags come in. Unifying your voices is vital to this process! Anything you contribute should use these tags so it’s a convenient one-click option for the creators to see how far support for this event goes. That being said, using them in the right place matters just as much. It’s useful to do behind-the-scenes organizing on Tumblr, but the aspect of reaching out to the creators should be done where most of them reside these days: on Twitter. Using both of these social media sites will be great for that. 3. THE CAMPAIGN As Strife said in his stream, extended campaigns are fine. But what is really going to get through to both creators and fans is one large, rallying cry. Be big and be noisy, but do it together. Organize through Tumblr to get the word out, and then take to Twitter for the campaign proper. 4. DO THE THING The strength of this movement comes down to the number of fans involved. If you want this to happen, SHOW UP and SHOW THEM what they and this potential SMP means to you. There are several things you can do, including:     a) blog/tweet/reblog/retweet with hashtags     b) reaching out to creators by @ tagging them with above     c) create fan works/fan content, again with a and b above     d) memes are a great option too!

Any additional thoughts, ideas, and comments are welcome!

So far we can confirm that Lyinginbedmon, KirinDave, and William Strife are on board. Who else can you get to join?

Now that you have read through this lengthy post, please head to #ComeBlockHome and/or #MC2012Reunion to get HYPE and start organizing.

WE CAN’T KEEP LETTING HIM GET AWAY WITH THIS

Okay, for real, I would be immensely down to do an old-school SMP series with the Underyogs. Like that’d be so incredibly fun and nostalgic and I think there’s demonstrably a strong audience for it.

We can get a server, we can organise everything, and I know at least 3 Underyogs would be down for it. I however am by far the smallest and least-familiar of the lot, so if you want me to stop being a colossal tease and see this take shape, you’re gonna have to bring it up with the other Underyogs yourselves. Make sure they know there’s an audience and that folks are down for it.

It’s 2021, we could all do with a little more 2012 after last year.

Reblogging this again because chat brought this up on Strife’s stream tonight. If you watch the VOD (the evening of January 24th 2021, there might be clips but I haven’t checked), Strife goes into depth talking about what you, YES YOU the audience whom so desires this, can do to encourage this into existence!

As tumblr user @dusty21134 states in this screenshot:

The VOD here [link] at 4:23:56 and on is where you can find it.

This is a neat thing to rally around and it *can happen* with your help. I want to see this just as much as you!

we’ve agreed upon  #MC2012Reunion and #ComeBlockHome for hashtags. and if you’re interested, make a post! talk about it! hit up other fans! you might just make a difference

but remember to be kind. and if a creator says no, respect that

I like the idea.  Hell, assuming no one has changed emails I could even message some people.  Doing that would depend on community hype, and a coordinated effort to get people’s attention on twitter. It has to be twitter BTW because it’s the best platform to get the attention of all the various people mentioned.

When in doubt, I draw the Hades siblings. I like to think that they bond over their powers and encourage each other a lot.

Added some closeup shots, too, because I am proud of my details.

It’s that time of the year again! This year was a lot slower in content, but a lot of things happened. I finished my studies and started a full time job as an illustrator. Onwards to another year!

For Christmas, I got @midnightlupus this amazing commission by @boaillustration. I had a print made and framed it and everything and she loved it and now that she’s seen it I can finally post it and I’m so happy to share it cause Boa did a great job and I absolutely love it! So does Mid, and so do her parents and everyone else I’ve been excitedly showing it off to the past couple of months! It came out great and I’m so happy Mid liked it and I can’t thank Boa enough for all the hard work she put into it and for taking it on.

I am so glad everyone likes it, I had a lot of fun working on it! Thank you for commissioning me, it’s been once again a pleasure!

A catharsis piece.

I don’t have a good relationship with my anger. I tried to deny I have any in me for years and it lead to me being disgusted with myself for feeling any anger at all.

But it’s part of my feelings. I don’t have to act on it, but I need to let myself feel it.

This excellent visual representation of that old scam, “trickle down economics”, has been all over Twitter recently.

And then the glass on top gets too big and too full and all the other little glasses below it break and then they all shatter.

And the big glass blames the little glasses for not working hard enough to hold it up.

A very good representation of how it actually works.  The basic concept about trickle down economics relies on people with wealth and power not being greedy.  If the rich get richer they’ll feel compelled to make more jobs, pay higher wages, and just give the worker a cut of the profit.  We all know that doesn’t happen, and the true irony of this is how it rose during the cold war. A time when we had to fight Communism and Socialism because it threatened our very way of life and because it would destroy the world as we knew it.

Or so it was said.

Communism, which is based on someone at the top being trusted to oversee all the wealth, not take any for themselves, and give it to everyone equally; was defined as the ultimate evil to American Capitalism.  Yet trickle down economics is the same basic idea with the same general results, it’s just implemented differently.

Strife, are we every going to see the Propagator Of Problems and the Sire of Solutions work together again?

You are talking about Parvis right?  If so the chances are slim to none.  He and I no longer talk really, as our time working together has run it’s course.  It’s not for negative or bad reasons mind you, it’s just that we did our thing together and have since moved on.

I seriously doubt this image will upload in 4k as I’ve rendered it, but all the same I figured some of you may want this for a wallpaper or something.  Hopefully what Tumblr resizes and compresses this to and at will suffice. (check this for another resolution)

If you’re clueless however, the above image is from a video (seen below) I made in the aftermath of a breakup. I typically do not possess the candor to discuss these things, especially in regards to my personal life, but sometimes you absolutely must express yourself.  As an artist this is one of the ways I worked through all my emotions.

Now, as for the actual message the video and image sends, it’s pretty simple.  Usually when you hear about someone going though a breakup or losing someone it’s all about the tears and heartbreak.  However, from an outside perspective it’s easy to just see someone crying over a person and think “It’s just a breakup, get over it!”  That was something I wanted to avoid when I made this, so I instead chose to write not about the breakup but the healthy functioning relationship instead.  To understand loss you have to first understand what is to have something special, because the pain comes from missing something or a major change you have to live with.  Then, after writing about what I see as a good and very real relationship, I used my artistic flair to shape the words into the real message.  The idea that all the good things and the reality of a relationship is the substance that makes up Heartbreak.

Also, in the event that my ex sees this.  I hope that we can be friends again one day. If not though I wish you the best, and thank you for the golden times and good memories.
