There’s a whole galaxy of brilliant, giddy book people inside of Tumblr, and Elizabeth Minkel (elizabethminkel) at The Millions has put together a gloriously detailed guide:
The Tumblr book fandom is as committed to the written word as they are to the platform’s creative and transformative slant: when they finish a book, they’re ready to pull the most thought-provoking quotes or draw fanart or bake the cake they read about in chapter 12. There’s equal space for criticism and celebration, and it’s the kind of community that forces me to talk sappily about the power of the web, how people thousands of miles apart can find each other and build friendships based on a single book, or a love of books generally.
If you’re looking for a friendly port from which to discover the book side of Tumblr, may we recommend our own Reblog Book Club? (And the smart lady who runs it, Rachel Fershleiser.)

To my great joy and surprise, the bookstore had this ‘new’ collection of Fitzgerald’s stories. Apparently, these stories were published in smaller/more obscure magazines and therefore haven’t made it to popular collections. To be honest, I’m not sure how many of these stories are actually lost/forgotten/out of print. To be even more honest, I really don’t care- it’s more FSF.
hollyblack is back, people.
And this isn’t your mama’s faerie tale. Finish the last word of that song, and you’ll summon a creature so dark, dangerous and awesome it could only come from the mind of Holly Black.
Amazon just picked The Darkest Part of the Forest as one of the Best Books of the Month, which is a HUGE tease since we can’t own it until January 13th.
So we posted the first chapters here, because waiting is hard, and we don’t want any of you to make dangerous bargains with the fae in an attempt to read it first. Now off you go to visit Fairfold…
